Last 50 or so min running up to brandywine falls, then back, then W on buckeye trail along boston mills rd, for old times sake did 4x up steps to nowhere, like me they seem to be getting old and tired looking.

forced training from boston store on buckeye trail S and E to peninsula, went down abandoned road to gate and did a hill ploderval (no longer intervals its a plod up the hill) back to top then down trail to stream and back up for hill ploderval 2. actually felt ok, ate 1 rice krispy bar 30 min prior to run and it was too much, felt much better on return than first half.
I'm so depressed that my daughter is gone, its really hard to do anything.

Last day in rmnp, threat of pm tstorms, and jay was toast, so we decided to do a bushwack climb up half mtn from glacial gorge trailhead. Actual climb was just over 1,500 ft and tops out at 11,497 ft, but there were great views up ridge to longs peak and below into glacial gorge. We bushwacked S and E across an expansive bowl of rock, boulders, and scrub vegetation, and tied into north longs peak trail. As we hit the trail we heard a lot of thunder and a storm was brewing behind us, so we hustled down trail to tree line, but it still was annoyingly exposed. We could see the rain N of us and there was tons of thunder, so when wind shifted we put on rain gear, and got belted with rain, there was a lot of thunder nearby but only saw one flash of lightning, lucked out again, last 1:45 was in steady rain. Got in car and left we're driving straight back nonstop, its 12:20am now somewhere in Nebraska. Over and out

Threat of t storms, so we started a bit early and so decided to do mt ida starting from Milner pass and hiking on the spectacular wide open continental divide. It was cold, 40' s and super windy probably 25-35 mph. Clouds completely covered ida, (12,880 ft) which was awesome then it started raining when we reached the summit and descent was dicey. Once out of cloud deck rain stopped, but to the WNW the sky looked dreadful and we were still near 12 ,000 ft on completely wide open exposed continental divide. The wind shifted and there was some lightning and tons of thunder so we bomded straight down probably +/- 700 ft to treeline and had dreadful bushwhacking to trail ridge rd as the storm let loose above us, had to walk about 1 mile on road back to milner.

Jay was trashed and didn't want to climb, so we went up the glacial gorge trail from bear lake which is a spectacular valley behind longs peak. We were on a shelf above black lake and weather looked bad so started descending in light rain but stopped after 10 min rained more a bit later but there wasn't thunder/lightning

In RMNP, in morning there was frost, ugh, back out of haynach on tonahutu trail. At edge of bighorn flats climbed an unnamed peak to 12,300 it had a permanent snow field so I went up that then cut across rocks to summit. Made way over to hallett peak and climbed it to 12,700+ ft. Then back down flat top mtn, a bit worrisome because we had to ration water and had last sips with about 45 min to go.

In RMNP from bear lake, w full pack; tent 2 days water, I had winter coat and mittens! Up flat top mountain about 2300 ft climb in about 6 miles to about 12,400 ft. Very slow jay was crushed by the altitude, I had no problems luckily. Then across bighorn flats then descended into haynach lake area, camped illegally.... oopsie

In RMNP, from lily lake up twin sisters peak trail until it ended at the site of a staggering landslide from Nov 2013. The side of mtn let loose about 100 yds wide and about 8 ft deep is gone and deposited at bottom. Estimated about 600 ft of climb

In brecksville , felt like taking a nap, but didn't so, started out really slow and was thinking that no matter what training, still feel weak. So ran a hill hard as I could, after gasping and walking, felt really good, so popped the hills, walked downhills and felt really really good and bumped up pace.

from boston store, all compressioned up w/ socks, knee things, S on buckeye trail, bridle trails to akpen rd by golf course, then back. felt rather blah starting out, but gradually felt better, walked the downhills. carried water which i don't usually do, probably helped.

cycling (road) 1:01:00 [3]

immediately after running, E up boston thrills rd, and out to barlow, down thru kendall, S to corn farm then N on riverview. felt decent on climb out of valley, then really good, but when turning N and heading back there was an annoying headwind, so my feeling good was due to tailwind and a good avgmph fizzled.
avgMPH 17.9
