running (trail/woods) 1:15:00 [3]
shoes: HOKA stenson

in mill stream mostly on mtn bike trails, some in woods. prior to starting, zero motivation, felt tired, just sat in van trying to convince myself to start, once going felt really good so it all went well. temp was 86, but in woods much nicer. parking lots jammed but only saw three mtn bikers, nice thing no litter except for one beer can, later a mylar balloon, and finally i think a sports bra hangin in a tree, no human attached, hmmm wonder how that played out.

commute to valley view, was going to ride on towpath but traffic was light-ish so stayed on roads. net downhill, misjudged time/distance and got there way early
avgMPH 19.9
8 PM

cycling (road) 51:00 [3]

attempt at sunset ride, going up the short steep sheep hill wall, about half way in, heard the dreadful ping and other strange noises off back wheel, knew i broke a spoke, but wheel was really wobbling, stopped and 2 spokes were broken, and about 6 others really loose so it was really potato-chipped, so just very easily soft pedaled back. i think avgMPH was less than 16. so back to shop we go on monday

from hudson rd/end of bike trail, by kent looping and heading toward valley. some dude flys by me said something about beautiful evening, and starts to roll away, instead of letting him go, it kicks in and i put in a dig and bridged up to him, he sees me latched on and really starts rolling along at 25-28 mph, after a few he swings off and asks where i'm going, i'm smacked by the wind and gasping for air all i could grunt out was "to valley and back" he said me too, you can join in if you want, and ramps it up again, and i'm back to hangin on for dear life, and on a little bump by the lil tykes plant he didn't change gears or slow at all and i was chewed up and spit out, he slowly rolled away, i could see him looking back, almost waiting, but i was toast at that point. he went straight on terex, i tried to short cut him on barlow but it didn't work, when the roads joined i saw him up ahead, but i turned and went S on olde 8, and down quick rd, and back up thru kendall, jumped on bike trail because i was starting to bonk, all i ate was a bowl of cereal at 11, it was close to 7 at this point, and i forgot water, so just tried to roll in and conserve energy, and hallucinate about the mandarin oranges in gel cup that i knew was in the van. what a dinner!
avgMPH was 18.2, at the bottom of kendall half way thru was at 19.9

avgMPH 18.0, miles 22.4

from hinckley headed N because of rain threat, then it got dark like rain, so went W and S and after 45min started to rain, was gonna try to ride in it then it got heavier and started throwin road spray so i bailed back to van. felt pretty good.
avgMPH 17.2

running (trail/woods) 1:04:00 [3]
shoes: HOKA mufasa 13.0

couldn't get compression gear on, was soaked, it didn't cooperate, so ran w/o it in steady rain, hinckley all the bridle paths were closed because of flood repairs, so did some bridle, some trails, alot of woods. the flood damage in certain areas is incredible, one spot on bridle path its completely gone a notch about 8 ft deep, about 6ft across, huge amount of earth is completely gone. went E thru park, across state rd, then back on bridle path to kellogg rd

from boston store E and S on buckeye trail out/back which is ok because its great section of trail. felt really good probably because its before torture of work and stuffing myself with donuts, pizza and cheeseburgers, but no fried food because that wouldn't be healthy! so ran at a faster pace, at halfway pt went down the abandoned rd behind peninsula, turned around an headed up and back.

E over to brecksville, down to river and back, out on oaks, back on parkway. mentally and physically exhausted from cub scout family camping weekend, so ride was relaxing, saw great sunset over turnpike bridge, it setting thru a haze of clouds. still coughing up lotsa congestion related debris, ugh.
other notable: ate one bug, saw a turtle pancake(d)
avgMPH 17.3 i think 21.5 miles.
