SOL 1 - Birsemore Hill
Walking around the controls (cut the southern part and just went 9-12 and etc till finish). Sharp to all of them but not too surprised as I was mainly reading and walking. Body was just not working today. Also, twisted my ankle leaving the last control, great. Anyway, beautiful area, would have regretted not have been out!

SOUL Sprint - Cove Bay
Disaster at number #3 haha where Freya caught me and continued with a bit of head-to-head till #11 with a longer routechoice to #10 that might have helped me to anticipate the rest though. Bonked a bit to #20 but all good and happy enough as I was reading fast and anticipating which is also a bit of a trouble. Also I might have done some running! :-)

British Nights Orienteering Champs - Muir of Dinnet
Never felt too lost, which I take it as a win win. Leaving #3 not in the direction I wanted but not a mayor problem... bit too to the left when into #10 (but cause I saw a control, and might as well check everything in this dark night, you know). Worried about #8 but actually not disappointed for that area (well yes, only cause it was impossible to run haha). Enjoyable night out although would have liked to feel a bit more competitive, that bug only lasted in the morning :/

Also, thank god I borrowed a good head-torch, otherwise it would have been a nightmare :))

FWTN in Gracemount arriving late as per and just before they closed the start, good that I had some contacts in the organization :P. Enjoying all of it and I think I was actually running! Made a few mistakes which thinking now might not have been too big, just more indecision troubles. More to come!

Fay and Lucia's training week Part 2 :D with some orienteering this time!:) Got a lift to the FVO event at Tulliallan to get very lost round the area. More forest than I expected but that just meant more fun (including a lot of time just being stuck in brambles too). Went to 14 instead of 12 because I am so good at reading maps and then did my own course with 19-18-17-16 and then back to the last controls.

It's gonna be a fun weekend of getting very lost (and as Lyds says: watch out this space) but anyway, loving being back in the forest with a map <3

Finally my debut on the hill training:

feeling v slow in the 3min reps trying to understand how to feel and getting the max of the 30” ones. Happy to have joined Fay in the reps suffer! Smiling all the way back home, happy days.

(Also, word on the street says I’ve done more hill intervals this semester than Mr Ali Masson :o)
