running (tempo uphill (trail)) 1:11:25 [4] 10.23 km (6:59 / km) +635m 5:20 / km
slept:10.0 shoes: Scott Supertrac RC

20' easy; 30' tempo uphill; easy back down.

A really unpleasantly humid afternoon, but feeling really strong on the climb. Used a steeper hill than in a lot of previous iterations of this workout, something more Jura climb gradient but still runnable, and felt like I was climbing really well. As always, really loved the session.

Specific Endurance

Overshot the time somewhat! The lure of the weather and of doing the Lochaber 4000s meant I got a bit carried away...! Still, felt pretty strong the whole way round, and felt able to finish strong, still with plenty of energy and pep in the legs. Felt I was climbing really well all day, and was pretty happy with the effort given a big week to this point. Got the fuelling pretty spot on too I think (3 packs shot blocks, 2 packets jelly beans, 2 chia bars), with no dips in energy. Super sunny and bright meant it was pretty warm out of the wind, and so took on board a good bit of water.

Wore my vest as opposed to bumbag for the first time in months, as an experiment to see if I want to wear it for Jura, and I think it's probably the more sensible choice for access to food water etc.

Overall, really happy with the run, and the week in general, and feeling really good in the run up to Jura
