Orienteering race 57:30 [4] 4.0 km (14:23 / km) +140m 12:14 / km

Since I had won the division M14 the day before I decided to test out a competitive orange. I focused on navigation and would run full speed when I was sure of the direction. I got bogged down on #1 and made a directional error of going right instead of left off my attackpoint. I struggled a little with #4 & 5 - I don't know why. I was pleased with some of my route choices, but made a lot of 15 sec mistakes. I know that I could run that map about 15 minutes faster once I have confidence in my map skills.

I thought that I ran well, until I saw my splits. I worked on folding the map. I was a little distracted by the terrain and just made a few dumb mistakes to points 4 & 5.

I had won the division by this afternoon - my competitors were flying out that night.

Sweet family hike through Curt Gowdy to the Hidden Falls with a walk past Chameleon Rock via Mo' Rocka.
