Chiltern Challenge - Blue
Didn’t take this as a race as such, was just out to enjoy it! Felt really slow though and was slogging along but had fun. Mistake at #4 again picking a bad route choice, then getting confused half way along, then relocating and then overshooting it... Not ideal!
Had a good weekend though and I do enjoy orienteering a lot

British Night Champs - 2nd
Felt almost as if I’d forgotten how to race. Was never pushing hard enough up the hills but that’s also due to being very unfit.
First mistake came at #5 (2 mins) being an idiot with the valley and going a long way round instead of straight. Then another longer leg #7 (1min30) misreading the contours so therefore bad routechoice again. Then a tired silly mistake (1min) at #11 when i ran past the path (tired?).
Overall 4.30 minutes binned. Number 5 is the most annoying one as was such a silly silly error.
Although really did enjoy it and nice to add another medal to the collection :D

Need to work on: LONG LEGS!! & now actually need to start training lol

Note

haven’t trained one bit in all honesty for this weekend or for any races soon. Want to do well but just been so demotivated since last year and not being selected for the talent squad or EYOC. Basically just feeling sorry for myself and moped about feeling shit and now i feel even shitter for it. Hopefully i’ll refind the happiness in orienteering and running soon but at the minute been focusing on other parts of my life and being happy in those.
