Retired.
Wasn't in the right head space from the start to be honest, not really concentrating. Scraped through the first few with scrappy nav and then had bad mistakes at 5- just crap bearing and line and didn't read any of the ground at all, 6- got distracted by some people and didn't have a plan at all, just ran and didn't even read that I had to cross the path, then panicked once I realised and wasted even more time in the circle.
Decided I needed to calm down so took a good bearing to 7, crossing the path perfectly in line and then just couldn't find it whatsoever, it felt too far from the ditch and path but I just couldn't read the contours. I ran around the entire slope for about 10-15 mins, then started shaking as I was so nervous and knew that I had messed it up completely. Decided to walk up the slope thinking about missing 7 out, then found the path junction and then walked to 7 as I wanted to actually see where it was. Took me about 24 mins to find 7. Then walked up the hill to 8 but started shaking even more and started throwing up lots of water. I was mentally gone by then and felt so sick, so I walked back to the finish whilst continuing to throw up along the way.
Feeling extremely mentally drained at the moment. Now its time to assess what went wrong and why, and to mentally prepare for tiomila.
