A fun long sprint at Algonquin.
A glitch where I overshot a control due to getting distracted. Another glitch where I fell prey to a wrong assumption… I could see the flag for #11 up ahead and could see it was on the far side of the fence, and another runner was running back toward me, so I assumed there wasn’t a way up ahead to get around the fence to get to the control -- wrong! So, took the scenic route to 11.
First time running since July 11th. Felt great for the first 30 minutes, then started noticing faint ITB twinges in the right leg. Faint twinges lasted into the next day but that's it. (Writing/posting this a few days post-event -- no further ITB twinges since Thursday.) So, definitely not as bad as after the July 11th sprint, so, maybe that’s some improvement.
Stamina was decent considering the lack of activity lately. However, coming up to 16, I was feeling grateful that there were only a handful of controls left... -- until I saw the longgg leg to 17, ouch! :D
