Ontario Orienteering Championships, 2019. - Long

Shadowed Clara on her long course. It was a challenging course for her, but she toughed it out despite getting cold and wet, and dealing with a map that was larger than she was.
Both her and Jay brought home second place today. Great job kiddies!

Ontario Orienteering Championships, 2019 - Middle

Good result for me. Lost 2 minutes or so on #2, but that was it. Other than that, pretty good nav, albeit slow going in the detailed terrain. Very nice forest, and fun to run along the ridges.

Ontario Orienteering Championships, 2019. Sprint

Really enjoyed this park setting map - much different than an urban sprint with many buildings and roads. Debated the point with friends, but I would say that I prefer this type of sprint.
Ran a strong race, but two significant errors lost me about 15 and 30 seconds respectively. On the second one, I literally ran within 5 m of the control but looked the wrong way. Gutted that I missed 3rd place by 12 seconds :(

Looks like I actually came 3rd in ON, so a liitle consolation there!

Ottawa OC, Wednesday Night RALF Training

Shuttle-O on the Bel Air Map in the rain. Fun tune up session before the ON Champs on the weekend. Finished off with Halloween candy. Jay said he had a blast!
