Orienteering race 1:25:56 [4] 5.15 km (16:41 / km)
shoes: Salomon Speedcross 3

B meet at Foley Mt near Westport, course set by Anita and Mark.
Had a wonderful short advanced course! Varied and challenging terrain, and I did well with my compass bearings and reading of the map. Lots of rocks, knolls, a couple of foot soakers through streams. Good overall experience. Finished 8 out of 34 starts in the SA course, 16 controls. Wahoo!
Delicious hamburgers :)
Only one tick!

Walking 1:35:00 [2] 8.0 km (11:53 / km)
shoes: Merrell Ventilator-types

Early morning walk with Sandra along river to Mud Lake, in through Mud Lake and back along Britannia, along the rec path back home.
Great morning, nice and cool, and a great chance to catch up with SG.

Running 23:00 [3] 4.0 km (5:45 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel-Kayano 22

Easy run in hot, muggy weather. S-loop.
Kept it slow and focussed on loose calves to avoid ABO. Did all right!
Time and precise distances are estimates, as I didn't use the Garmin.
Tought, hot, tiring week.

Running 30:02 [3] 4.8 km (6:15 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel-Kayano 22

Slow, easy run focussing on keeping my left calf loose. Did some stretching (both dynamic and static) in order to loosen up the calf and hopefully prevent ankle blow out. It worked! I could feel at a couple of spots that the tendonitis was going to stop me, but I held off any discomfort by really using biofeedback to relax the calves and engage the hips more. Good result.
It was hot, hot, hot and sunny ... And of course, muggy, so going slow was the ticket all 'round. Yay!

Cycling 54:22 [4] 16.42 km (3:19 / km)
shoes: Shimano WR61 clip-ins

First cycle of the season. Rode with Tasha on her way to work at Mooney's Bay. I turned around at Fisher (~8k, 29:30).
Very hot day (28 deg) and sunny. Bit of a headwind on the way back. Really nice ride; the bike is great. The lads did a good job fixing her up last summer:)
It was nice riding with Tasha. Hadn't done that in ages!
