Orienteering 13:47 [3] 1.86 km (7:24 / km) +107m 5:45 / km
ahr:115 max:125

Nice warm up through a quarry. Hot, nervous, but felt good.

Orienteering 1:33:15 [3] 13.89 km (6:43 / km) +414m 5:51 / km
ahr:147 max:166

It's great to be back home!!!! Hadn't been here since '88. Lots of compass and tough running on tussock moorland. Ran out of steam at 21-22.
1. Wrong control First 1 min
2. Wrong control First 1 min 30 secs.
4. Overran it 45 secs
7. Wrong depression 30secs.
11. Saw people leaving what I thought was mine. It wasn't!! 3min 30.
30. Tired.. thought I knew better than the train. Went to the wrong control. 1min 30secs.
Total lost time 7mins 45secs. Probably about right. But the other problem was motivation. The course was so long and steep I'd walk too much and switch off.
6th (93:09) out of 18. Winner (Alistair McCleod) 67:44.

Easy out on the Bike. First time in a year, up Highcliffe and down. NOT bike fit!!! Hammys were killing. Nothing off trail and the shockers need loads of air.

Danby run. Always a beast on the legs. Did Highcliffe in 13:19. Really good weather. I noticed the extraction in Westworth Plantation has made the woods really nice. The visibility is amazing.....I wonder if CLOK still has access. Nice pint of Saltwick at The Duke went down very nicely.

Saltburn Urban Race.
4 lost 1min. Ran straight past it to the sea wall. Duh
8 lost 30 secs began to run down a parallel alley.
11 lost 10 secs hesitation on T junction. Getting tired.
14 lost 20 secs looked for it 30m too soon.
15 lost 5 mins ran past it 4 times. It was lying on the floor in undergrowth.
16 lost 1:30 wrong shoes on. Couldn't get up bank.
17 lost 30 secs. Hesitation by OB area.
Total 9 mins.
I was 5th when I left and felt I'd had a decent run. Up until 15 I was really fluid but the control placement totally threw me. After that I was just deflated. Winner I think did a little over 38 mins. Attainable but they probably had bobbles all over the place too. Great run out on a Tuesday night and really enjoyed my first Urban Event. I think now I know what its about I'll run the Sprint in Denmark. Supposed to run in Skipton on Saturday, but I'm not doing it on Market Day!

Not sure if it was the Houston weather, but I feel great. Strava doesn't say so, but its fact. 2x10mins, 3x1km. Perfect weather cool and sea fret. Supposed to do long run tomorrow but going to rest and let the bairns do Saltburn street O.
