What a total balls up. I now know racing with people isn't my strength. I either over cook it or slow down to wait for other peoples help.
Number 1 total cock up. 8mins
Number 4 I should have run harder but I was just pissed off by then. I caught Andis Vitolins at the control which gave me a reason to try again (he started 2 mins ahead). From then on myself, Andis and Sydney Fisher (W21) ran together but it didn't help me.
Number 5 2mins. Wrong knoll.
Number 8 I tried to breakaway and didn't see a footpath on the map. When I got to it on the ground it completely threw me. The results show 5mins of mistakes. I think over 6.
Number 9 I was 50m short of it and just walked about frustrated. 3-4mins.

Ultimately, I was too worried/ distracted by others and should have just gone it alone. The start didn't help though. That was all my own doing. I approached 1 great but then didn't run far enough off the footpath and came up short looking for it.

Cool down. Stupid idea. Went looking for dibber. I could have been there all year and never have found it. I should have re-run the days course.

Running 1:05:28 [3] 8.0 km (8:11 / km)

Good run, terrible result!. Lost my SI card between 7 and 8. Ran clean until 8 (3min mistake at 6). Then when I went to 8 I realised I'd lost my dibber. Manual punched the rest of the course but still DQ'd. Very happy with the performance came 5th with 6 mins of errors and I'm nowhere near fit. Looking forward to tomorrow.

(rest day)

Stayed in Acton. Didn't want to face the drive over to Mt. Tom just for a 2k model course. Getting there early tomorrow to do it.

Followed Mark around the woods in Acton. Very wet. Feel pretty good. Forest is very quick up here.

Threshold session on White Oak. 15mins, 3x3mins, 10mins. I changed it up a tad as I wanted to do the Egbert bridge Strava segment. Wanted to see exactly how far behind I am compared to January. Turns out a full minute. That's how it felt too. I lumbered around today. Jan. 14 I did it in 12:28. 13:34 today. Bit of a worry really. Still travel to Mark's tomorrow and get ready for Troll Cup. I just want a decent run on one of the days.

Heights Boulevard. Really easy. Not enough time to do anything else. Mini in town, work and house inspection. Going to switch to a threshold session tomorrow.
