Running 1:35:00 [3] 14.5 km (6:33 / km)

Run with parents and Joel around redburn and a wee area by Logie. Started off at the visitor centre then ran along to the track along the Shoulder through the middle of the Muir of Dinnet map for a little bit before turning into Redburn itself had felt good until this point but my knee was starting to 'lose strength' basically it randomly collapsing and seeminly losing strength if I stripe out at all. So started to slow down a bit through the muir then into the terrian by Logie felt muuuch better on the knee but still not very good crossed through that onto the road from Morven and along to the 'main' road then back into the forest along a track before coming back to the road again. This time staying on it for a while. Then back into Redburn along the lower track and then through terrain to the shoulder track. Then back along to the visitor centre, leg felling a bit better.

DNC at Sluie

Started off with 2 out of 3 bars on the torch thinking oh that'll be enough. Good through all of the horrible fresh extraction lanes, sort of up the track where it still existed then round the break in slope and in well. Around the slope and onto the small ridge going for 'a control' someones reflective bag strips (should be banned?.....) then down and in. Down the left hand side of the re-enterant but to far right and had to bank left to get in to #3. Nailed the bearing to the ride then nailed another to the knoll, good compass etc given as it's night. Down the track a bit then contoured around to the other one and along to #5, started looking a bit early but this wasn't helped by a big new 4x4 track parralel to the other but on the other side. So saw it and thought 'ah thats not mine its on the wrong side'. Eventually went over and it was correct Damm. Started off good through the open to #6 then guess what...... the torch died, so much for lasting the whole thing. Then faffed around getting my (new 2 week old) spare breaking it in well. Came a bit to high in the circle then a bit low, a bit sloppy. A bit low to #7 but recovered and went back up. Aimed for the wee track and halfway the forestry vehicle's floodlights suddenly came on absolutley terrifying me. Went up along the ever so slightly ruined track and in nicely, straight to #9 fine. Ok along to #10 as well. Along the left of the ridge and along to #11. Went way to far left to the finish cuz of all the mud wallows .

Note to self: more compass work in tough terrain and CHARGE YOUR TORCH!

Orienteering 1:01:19 [3] 6.2 km (9:53 / km)

Local event at Shooting Greens planned by Joe

Started along the track passed to bad bit then into the forest over the small hill up the real hill then around the grot at the top and came in almost perfect, just above it, recovered quick and dropped down. Directly straight line to the break of slope, end of boulder field and on the compass to #2 no problem. Good line to the track to 3 but for some reason thought I was on the northern track so ran the wrong way along it for a bit before realising and going back, then across and through the gorse. Nice once i was on the other side of the re-enterent. Directly across to #4 keeping line V well and must have been about 10m from it and didn't see it so went into the next re-enterant before bouncing back. Along the wee ridge and left of the little hill to get onto the track then along for a bit, then along the side of the grot and in to #5 quite nicely. Down the 'forest' (open) to the river side track and long to the open, getting a niceline through and slowly up to the track just before it started dropping giving me a good pre attackpoint in, a bit high but down and in nicely. Almost direct to #7 round a wee knoll but V smooth. Went a little bit to far to the left on #8 but recovered before it became a problem. Round the hill and down to #9 faffing in the circle because i couldn't see it. Along the track and up the re-enterent to #10. through the gorse then around the green and dropped down to #11. Cut up to the track then up it, cutting climb by going along the ride then along the track and up to #12. Went along to the really rooty track and fell, smacking my knee off of a large rock then slower down the track and along the ridge dropping down to the crag. Starting to lose it mentally now so drifted way to far right and had to cut back across to #14 Then way to far North of #15 and back down into it. Then along the track for the last few

Note to self: Don't fall and watch drifting left on compass.
