Orienteering 2:30:00 [3] 13.6 km (11:02 / km) +560m 9:09 / km

Very physical and challenging long on Graythwaite.

Don't think I have orienteered on the main bit of this area before but have run on the western part a few times. A really nice long course, required constant effort to get anywhere. Think my route choices were generally ok but could have been much more decisive and accurate executing them.

Making generally good progress until 11 where I followed someone going the right way, but turned out they were just going to 15 and then it was impossible to relocate on the hill. My own fault! Ended up relocating on the path but lost about 10 minutes there. A few more scrappy controls in the loop but then decent but slow for the rest of the course.

Think this is probably the first M21E course where I felt physically fit enough to complete it properly.

L Toe also fine, whole body feeling good.

Orienteering 49:59 [3] 5.5 km (9:05 / km) +220m 7:34 / km

Rusland Beeches Middle

A bit too cautious from the start but navigate very well to 2 which let Scott catch me up for two minutes. Much better after that and got picked up by Joe Sunley for a pretty solid train until the penultimate control where we were too low. We at least corrected much faster than anyone else and even been 4 minutes faster would still have been in the same position.

Really nice competition, don't get many like this in the UK.

Running 3:32:41 [3] 21.4 km (9:56 / km) +1700m 7:07 / km

BG Leg 2 route with Nick

Pretty easy going most of the way. Didn't find the best line from Dollywaggon Pike I don't think but not too bad. Could have been a bit straighter onto Fairfield as well. Just a lovely day out overall, better to get out today rather than yesterday as it was pretty manky.
