Warm up for day 1 of the U.S. Champs at Winona State Forest, NY.

Running - Pace (orienteering) 1:21:05 [4] 11.8 km (6:52 / km)

Ran day 1 of U.S. Champs. Felt good and had a pretty clean, smooth run, with only a few small misses, hesitations, etc.

Running - Easy (dirt road / grass) 8:00 [2] 0.89 mi (8:59 / mi)

Warm down after day 1 of U.S. Champs.

Ran the U.S. Champs model event at Winona State Forest, NY.

Thursday May 10, 2001 #

Running - Easy (road / trail) 43:14 [2] 5.58 mi (7:45 / mi)

Ran around Mohawk and Russel Park with Bill.

Running - Barely (road) 1:03:21 [1] 5.7 mi (11:07 / mi)

Ran around Mohawk and Ilion with Bill and Camille. Camille is training for the Utica Boilermaker (15k).

Tuesday May 8, 2001 #

Running - Easy (road) 22:00 [2] 3.35 mi (6:34 / mi)

Warm-up for track workout. Ran South from Montlake for a while, then ran back North to Husky Stadium.

Running - Pace (track) 11:28 [4] 2.25 mi (5:06 / mi)

Ran 4 x 800m with one lap jogging recovery between reps, then did a 400m. My legs are pretty tired from the weekend, so it felt really tough.
Times: 2:32.8 2:33.4 2:32.2 2:31.0 1:18.3

Running - Easy (track / road) 22:26 [2] 2.3 mi (9:45 / mi)

Jogging recovery in between hard reps on track, then 12:40 warm down to Montlake.

Sunday May 6, 2001 #

Running - Easy (trail) 2:11:14 [2] 14.0 mi (9:22 / mi)

Ran with the Footzone group from Squak Mountain to the Red Town trailhead at Cougar Mountain. Started out sort of hard up the hill, but slowed down after 20-30 minutes. My left achilles hurt again for the first several minutes of the run, but then felt better the rest of the time. The weather is gorgeous.

Ran to Meany Studio Theater for a play: The History of the Devil. It was good.
