First free day at Whistler. Not much terrain open, but I wanted to try out my new skis (much wider than my old ones). I can still turn and carve fine on the groomers, and I have much more flotation off-piste. Still a lot of work to do on my powder technique, but plan to work on that a lot this season.

Darkside orienteering at Cap River. Fun course set by Nate, with lots of steep options.

Lost quite a bit of time on #9 as I was looking down from the top of a bank thinking "that looks way too steep, I must be in the wrong place". Relocated from the main trail and got to the same place again. One death-defying descent half way down the slope and I found the control.

Also lost time on #3 as they've built a new boardwalk, so the massive and obvious wiggle in the trail (AKA my attack point) no longer exists.

Looking forward to the rest of the Darkside adventures :)

Downtown WET. The map has been expanded a lot, and includes some neat little areas. Lots of road crossings, but managed to jaywalk half of them. I'm so unused to seeing white in urban areas that I kept reading it as canopy grey and got a little confused. Kept the pace very easy as I banged my knee earlier in the day and now have a lovely little bruise.
