Rice Lake to Norvan Falls.

Legs felt heavy on the way up, but was super-fun on the way down. Perfect day for running. So nice out there!

Running 17:14 [3] 3.28 km (5:15 / km) +46m 4:55 / km

Quick loop around Rice Lake, to round out the distance to 20k.

Only three weeks until the scotia half, so glad I'm getting some long runs in. Might need to run round the island a couple of times next weekend in order to get the distance in!

Fun WET at Ambleside. Shockingly, it's the first time I've run there!

Took a wiggly route through the trees for one leg, when it would have been better to stick to the straighter trail. Also got a bit turned around in the "field of many bushes", but I'm going to blame the map for that.

Hiking 1:28:02 [3] 2.95 km (29:51 / km) +801m 12:39 / km
ahr:133 max:153

Up BCMC with my brother and sister-in-law.

First time I've done BCMC, having always done the grind previously. Much more fun and technical. The ascent seems just as steep, but there's a long gentle slope for the last km before reaching the chalet.

The top bit's currently covered by ~50cm of snow, but there was a guy there digging out the trail with a shovel (seems like a thankless task - it'll probably melt by the time he's finished!).

Only fell through the snow once, and it was 2 seconds after saying "I might fall through the snow here". +1 for looking like I know what I'm doing in front of my guests :)

Spent a few hours at the top of grouse doing the lumberjack show, looking at the (sleeping) bears etc and enjoying the best seats in the house for lunch. Perfect!
