Orienteering race (Mass-Start) 38:59 [4] *** 5.42 km (7:12 / km) +239m 5:54 / km
ahr:179 max:189

A mass start race, which was really fun! The terrain was really steep, so I had to preserve my energy at the start of the race. So at the start I was already falling behind, but I can remember at least three instances where I took my own route choice which put be back at the front of the pack! I was able to use my energy when I had to and save it by making smart route choices. I feel like I was able to put to strengths to good use.

Orienteering race (NIght) 56:28 [3] *** 8.29 km (6:48 / km) +129m 6:19 / km
ahr:171 max:187

A night race, the terrain was flat and open, with some very steep downhill towards the end. I had an incredible start, the first three controls were perfect. After that, I made a compass mistake that made me feel unsure about myself for the rest of the race. I didn't run nearly as fast as I would have liked. Overall, a little disappointing but the promise of a good race is there.

Orienteering 1:05:45 [3] *** 8.11 km (8:06 / km) +284m 6:54 / km
ahr:152 max:176

An orienteering training at dusk, most of the time I could run without a headlamp. I had a pretty good time, I didn't make too many mistakes. I felt pretty strong as well, the terrain was the main thing that held my speed down. I'm happy with this training, it was good prep for this weekend!

Orienteering (NIght) 49:43 [3] 5.77 km (8:37 / km) +139m 7:42 / km
ahr:160 max:179 spiked:11/17c

This was a mess. 1:5000 at night is not a good combo for me. Lots of silly mistakes, due to misreading the map and going the wrong direction. The terrain was quite flat and open, most of the time. It felt like I couldn't see anything, so I only had my compass go off of. That did not end well for me. I did have good legs too, and a few mistakes were due more to not seeing the control when I was really close to it. It was a fun race with nice terrain. I just made more mistakes than I'd like to make.

Run intervals (Hill) 33:54 [4] 5.27 km (6:26 / km) +85m 5:57 / km
ahr:129 max:183

More of the hill. 15-20 minutes warmup and six times up. I ran up fewer times but it felt like I had an overall higher pace, I was more consistent. It was good, I was in a good mood and I felt just as motivated afterwards as I did before. Very happy with this one, I hope to have more like it!
