Run / Hike long 1:57:57 [3] 12.09 mi (9:45 / mi) +554ft 9:21 / mi
slept:6.0 weight:113.4lbs shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2017)

LoCO FIT breakfast run, starting from the golf course. I had 12 miles on my plan and I wanted to finish with the group, so I started ~one hour early.

I did an out-and-back on the Coal Creek trail towards Lafayette, met up with the group just after five miles, and then did another out-and back towards Superior on the Coal Creek / Singletree / Mayhoffer trails for the last seven miles.

I would have slowed my pace greatly in the last few miles, but I caught up with a few others who were at about 9:30 - 9:45 -- not too fast for me, and I could still keep up.

I resisted the urge to get pancakes for breakfast...had a yogurt / fruit / granola bowl & chai instead.

A chilly but beautiful morning! And now I hope I can rally for Sverre's o-training in Lakewood... :-P

Orienteering 44:29 [3] 2.2 mi (20:13 / mi) +54ft 19:45 / mi
shoes: Salomon Speedcross (2017-Turq)

Walked Sprint course #1 w/ Amy.

In retrospect, maybe we should have gone the other way around the pond to #8 (we thought the short way would be too thick, but it probably wasn't).

Walked Sprint #2. Had my map upside down and made a 180-degree error leaving #2. DOH!

Fun lunch & beers with the others afterwards.

The freezing rain started right as I walked outside, and I also knew I'd be cutting it close to squeeze this workout in before my dinner plans, so I came within a millimeter of scrapping this. But I'm glad I got it done...

- Ran one mile to warm up.

- 10 x one minute effort / one minute walking (this was supposed to be two minutes walking recovery, but...see above).

- Ran one mile+ to cool down.

I was totally frozen and soaked through both layers by the time I got home. :-P

My training group isn't "officially" meeting this week (Spring Break), but a few of us got together at Davidson Mesa -- which was amazingly dry, considering all the snow we got last night. Brisk temps but sunny and no wind (yay!).

- Slow run from home up to Davidson Mesa to warm up.

- 3 x 10 minutes "at half marathon pace" / two minutes walking recovery in between. Not sure I could sustain this for 13 miles, but average pace was 9:20, 8:49, 8:26.

- Slow run back home to cool down.

Run / Hike 25:26 [3] 2.52 mi (10:05 / mi)
slept:8.0 weight:111.6lbs shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2017)

Short run from Runners Roost in Stapleton. Conditions included a brisk wind and freezing rain, but the beers afterwards made it worthwhile. :-P

slept:8.0 weight:110.8lbs shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2017)

Easy neighborhood run -- up to and around Harper Lake, then back the same way.
