Run / Hike 1:01:59 [3] 5.01 mi (12:22 / mi) +767ft 10:48 / mi
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2017)

Since my training plan assignment for today was 7 miles, and since I had some time to kill before Chris Ray's going-away party in Parker, I went to the MAC for a trail run. Great weather...trails were snow-packed & slippery in places, which slowed me down a lot. A little bit of mud.

I've had a painful glute (piriformis?) twinge since my hill workout on Thursday -- I was feeling it quite a bit for the first few miles of this.

Also, while I was out, I picked up this treasure from one of my neighbors (25¢):

Run / Hike hills 51:44 [3] 4.61 mi (11:13 / mi) +241ft 10:42 / mi
slept:8.0 weight:110.1lbs shoes: TNF Ultra Winter

- Ran one mile to warm up.

- Rec center hill sprints x 10 (one minute up / two minutes down). I thought I might have to cut this short after #4 due to stomach distress -- probably due to my too-recent "lunch" of chips & salsa, a few swigs of kefir, and a handful of pecans -- but I eked it out.

- Jogged home.

Note

My bar graph looks like it's flipping me off... Eff-you too, RMOC admin work! ;-)

7 PM

Run / Hike 17:56 [3] 0.75 mi (23:55 / mi) +56ft 22:20 / mi
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2017)

Walked to & from the rec center.

Strength / Stretching 1:00:00 [3]

Yoga class at the rec center. I forgot that Becky doesn't teach this one anymore -- kind of a letdown when I walked in and saw "the other guy". :-P

slept:8.0 weight:109.9lbs shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2017)

I decided to do tomorrow's training plan assignment (four-mile run) tonight, and I'll (hopefully) do yesterday's hill sprints tomorrow. :-P

Road loop with the Runner's Roost group; food & beer selection afterwards was underwhelming -- but I can't complain since it was free.

Run / Hike long 1:22:12 [3] 8.11 mi (10:08 / mi) +311ft 9:47 / mi
slept:10.0 weight:109.5lbs shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2017)

Today's assignment was: eight-mile run.

Good thing, since I indulged at my friend's 50th birthday party last night -- several glasses of super-sugary (and delicious) margarita punch, loads of chips & guac, handfuls of cayenne-cheddar-pecan shortbread wafers (my contribution), a chunk of Mississippi mud cake and -- the grand finale -- dark chocolate cake with bourbon syrup glaze, chocolate ganache filling / icing, and pecan praline topping. YUM.

...

One loop around the arboretum, then east to Daughenbaugh and Coal Creek (Dutch Creek, golf course, out to Superior) -- back the same way except for the arboretum loop.

All of mile 5 was pretty slow b/c the trail was totally snow-packed and slippery / slushy. Otherwise, mildly windy but pleasant.

Run / Hike 5:33 [3] 0.29 mi (19:08 / mi) +14ft 18:17 / mi

Walked a bit to cool down (and to avoid having to run up the last hill). :-P

It's hot shower time!
