The local Runners Roost has a challenge for January -- walk or run at least one mile every day.

I planned to do laps on the indoor track at the rec center, but my watch couldn't lock in on satellites. So I jogged & walked along Via Appia and then around the arboretum.

Resolute Runner 5k race in Arvada.

I was up multiple times after midnight due to an upset stomach, so I wasn't sure I was going to make it to this race -- but I eventually felt better and got to sleep.

I got to the race plenty early but almost missed the start b/c the clock in my car was 15 minutes slow (and I was sitting in there to stay warm). Car was also slow to crank this morning, so maybe there's a battery issue... Thankfully I glanced at my phone three minutes before the start. :-P

It was about 16°F, but I had the right layers and there wasn't any wind -- pleasant!

I finished 5th out of 63 runners in F40-49 -- pretty happy with that, except that I wish I had somehow found another ~20 seconds to make it into 3rd place...

It was fun to see John, Amy & Fiona there, along with some of my LoCO friends.

Run / Hike 33:46 [3] 3.16 mi (10:41 / mi) +203ft 10:04 / mi

LoCO / Roost New Year's Day group run w/ lunch & beer afterwards.

I planned to only do about two easy miles (after running the race this morning), but I ended up at 2.7 and then I figured I'd round up to three...and walk the rest.

The organizer suggested we all bring unwanted / gently-used running gear for a swap. I brought the (unworn) Tom Brady-style hat from this morning's race and left with some awesome Lole tights. What the what!? They're not exactly the right size but close enough.
