Run / Hike long 1:15:04 [3] 6.37 mi (11:47 / mi) +394ft 11:08 / mi
slept:6.0 weight:111.1lbs shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2017)

I went to bed at 11pm on Friday night, but I was still WIDE AWAKE at 2am and beyond (racing thoughts about work and unfinished projects, reliving recent emotional & unpleasant conversations, etc.). So I snoozed my 6am alarm and didn't meet my running group at 7am as planned... I was going to do the same trail they did on my own a bit later (Doudy Draw + Springbrook, ~5 hilly miles), but both parking lots were totally full when I got there. Ugh.

I ended up doing an out-and-back on the High Plans trail (plus a bit of Greenbelt Plateau). It's 100% treeless and hot, but there was plenty of parking. Ran 6.2, walked the rest.

Like an idiot, I tried to run over one of the new cattle-guard ramps (which are intended for mountain bikers). My foot slipped through and I bashed my shin.

Target Shooting (50) 1:00:00 [0]

Run / Hike intervals (Summer Training 2017) 1:00:00 [3] 5.05 mi (11:53 / mi)
slept:5.0 weight:112.5lbs shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2017)

- Jogged one mile to warm up.

- 1600m - 1200 - 800 - 600 - 400 - 200, with 2-3 minutes of rest in between. Goal was to have a faster pace on each set, which I was able to do (9:10, 8:38, 8:14, 7:50, 7:20, 6:40).

- Jogged a half-mile to cool down.

Misty sprinklers around the track felt GREAT.

Run / Hike hills (Summer Training 2017) 1:13:06 [3] 5.6 mi (13:03 / mi) +420ft 12:11 / mi
slept:7.0 weight:110.7lbs shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2017)

- Jogged a half-mile to warm up.

- Four laps on the Tyler Ave hill loop (goal: consistent effort / tempo up and down).

- Jogged & walked about one mile to cool down.

Administration warm up/down 2:15:00 [0]

- Two membership renewals & confirmation emails.

- Posted results & splits for Camp Elim meet -- this required lots of manual tweaking in the OE2010 software, due to some courses having more controls than most people's e-punch capacity, weird course variations by a few people, Red / Green / Blue runners who missed the instructions about the transition punch, double-checking for actual mispunches, etc. Sent Doug & others a summary email of the changes I made.

- Posted results & splits for Glen Aspen Ranch.

- Posted volunteer list for both meets.

- Several email follow-ups.

Orienteering race (Red course) 2:23:44 [3] 5.87 mi (24:29 / mi) +1594ft 19:29 / mi
slept:6.0 shoes: Salomon Speedcross (2014)

Apparently I used up all my speed and accuracy yesterday... This sucked -- way too steep for me, and I spent ~one hour trying to find #11. Ugh. If not for the self-inflicted disaster at #11, I probably would have enjoyed the course.

As I was heading to #14 (of 21), I could see the Finish and I knew I had already been out for a little over two hours, so I headed in to DNF. Jim pointed out when I was downloading that I could complete Green if I went to #14 and two others close-in, so I did that. Exhausted afterwards.

My GPS tracks will be entertaining / embarrassing, if I bother to put them in QuickRoute. :-P
