Run / Hike 20:11 [3] 1.07 mi (18:52 / mi)
slept:7.0 weight:127.6lbs shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2016)

Walked to & from the rec center. Took the long way home, to get a full mile.

8 PM

Strength / Stretching 1:15:00 [3]

I assumed this would be the same as Tuesday's "restorative yoga" class (relaxing, stretching, easy), since it was the same instructor at the same time. But this was "real" yoga with things very similar to planks, push-ups, lunges, and painfully long squats. Oof. More proof that I'm really out of shape. The 15 minutes of "guided meditation" at the end was nice, though; I think I almost dozed off once or twice.

Orienteering race (Green course) 1:29:30 [3] 4.21 mi (21:16 / mi) +374ft 19:37 / mi
shoes: Salomon Speedcross (2014)

I think this was my favorite course of the weekend, mostly because the terrain was more scenic and varied (pine forest).

I was happy with #1-2-3-4. I deviated from the straight line too much on my way to #5; I should have stayed to the left of the aspen grove.

I got REALLY lost on the way to #6. I was able to relocate when I spotted someone else's control in a distinct narrow clearing, which I was able to find on the map.

#7, #8, and the first 3/4 of getting to #9 went according to plan, but I lost contact with the map as I got close to #9.

I ran a little bit more today than on the previous two days.

Orienteering race (Green course) 1:40:00 [3] 4.73 mi (21:09 / mi) +436ft 19:27 / mi

I got kinda lost in the rocks as I approached #1, and I zig-zagged back and forth before finding it.

From #2 to #3, should have been more straight-line (through the saddle halfway in between them).

Got way off my bearing on the way to #5, and was starting to feel demoralized from being so slow and inaccurate. Then the rest went OK, but it was mostly open and somewhat easier than the first half of the course.

Of the three race days, I felt the most out-of-shape on this one. Blah.
