My "lunchtime run" didn't happen until 5:40 pm -- so I only had time to do two miles before the 6:00 pm CrossFit class. I've been *incredibly* sore from all the squats on Tuesday (and then sitting motionless at a desk for hours on end...), but I felt less sore after the jog.

  • Warm-up: jog 400m and range of motion stuff.

  • Three rounds: 15# kettlebell swings x 10 per arm / lunges with the kettlebell x 12 / supermans x 10 / ab-things x 10.

  • Two rounds of "gymnastic warm-up": handstands x 5 / (modified) ring push-ups x 5 / frogstand x 10 seconds.

  • Warm-up on power snatch, working up to 3-rep max (55#).

  • Ten rounds, on one-minute intervals: power snatch x 3 (I used 50#) / 20# ball slams x 6.

  • Warm up -- 500m jog, dynamic stretching, range of motion stuff, planks / push-ups, and 10 squats.

  • Four rounds of wall squats x 5.

  • Five rounds of push-press x 3, working up to 3-rep max: 35#, 45#, 55#, 65#, 65#.

  • For time -- 100 overhead squats (35#): 7:42.

Easy jog at Hidden Mesa. Luckily the roaring wind at Troy's house had died down by the time I got to the trailhead... Lots of mountain bikers and a few equestrians were out. Nice & sunny, and no mud.

10 push-ups after each mile, for a total of 50. I only put my hand down on a cactus one time. :-p
