Strength Training for Runners class. Wow -- this was a tough one. I'm anticipating pain tomorrow.

  • Jog ten laps to warm up.

  • Three sets of (high knees / butt-kickers / grapevine / hops x 10 / 75-second "monkey" plank)

  • Three sets of (forward squat jumps x 17 / plank with leg lifts x 10 per leg)

  • Three sets of (rocket jumps x 10 / lunge jumps x 10 per leg / star jumps x 10 / push-ups x 10 / bicycle crunches x 25 per leg)

  • Heel-walking and toe-walking.

  • Hobble / jog ten laps to cool down.

  • Note

I went to bed at around midnight and tossed and turned 'til 4:00 am this morning. Then I woke up sporadically until I had to get up at 8:30 am. I need to spend some time reading the "Power Sleep" site Ross posted. I know that my CHOICE to have coffee at noon yesterday was a factor (as well as some anxiety about Christmas gifts, of all things...)

    Run / Hike 33:58 [3] 3.02 mi (11:15 / mi)
    slept:11.0

Jogged two laps around Troy's neighborhood in Elizabeth -- even though it's 0° and snowing. I cried a little bit on the way out the door (actually, it was whining, not crying), but it wasn't bad at all once I got going. I wore my heavier (warmer) day-hiker shoes with my YakTrax attached.
