Orienteering race (Red course) 1:31:22 [3] *** 5.23 mi (17:28 / mi) +997ft 14:48 / mi
slept:8.0 weight:124lbs shoes: Vasque Adrenaline

I thought I did pretty well (for me), and I was looking forward to seeing some nice, purposeful lines in my GPS tracks. But, my ForeRunner data is spotty. I filled in the blanks manually (with purple).

I was happy that I didn't do any wandering; I had some small errors here and there (#9). I was only seven minutes behind Gøril (she beat me by ten minutes at Remarkable Flats). ;-)

We had a really big turnout for the meet, which was great.

Cycling tempo 39:14 [3] 6.72 mi (5:50 / mi)
slept:6.0 weight:124lbs

Bike to work.

I decided to try a short-cut trail I've had my eye on for a while. I ended up having to climb over a gate and under a barbed-wire fence -- orienteering experience came in handy here. ;-) In the end, it wasn't much of a short cut time-wise or distance-wise.

Note

Very bizarre: Developmental Topographical Disorder -- the inability to orient in an environment.

Article (Poorly written, I think, because it's not very clear what the woman's exact problem is, which is simply that she's frequently lost even in familiar settings. That wasn't clear to me until I read through the web site below.)

Research Site (The section on "How We Orient" is interesting.)

Cycling tempo 59:19 [3] 9.71 mi (6:07 / mi)

Bike home, with one detour for a wrong turn, and another detour for dinner. It was pretty chilly by the time I finished dinner.

Cycling 19:38 [2] 3.18 mi (6:10 / mi)

Out to lunch and back.

Cycling 40:17 [2] 6.98 mi (5:46 / mi)

I was hungry again within about 45 minutes of getting back from lunch... I caved in and got a Snickers in the afternoon, but I was *starving* and headache-y by the time I left the office at 9:15 pm.

Bike home with a detour for dinner supplies.

I managed to rig my headlamp on my helmet, but I'm not sure it added enough light to be worth the effort.

Run / Hike tempo 51:00 [2] 4.17 mi (12:14 / mi)
slept:8.0 weight:125lbs

I can feel myself getting fat from inactivity and ridiculous amounts of raw cookie dough over the past few weeks.

So -- I planned to bike to my dentist appointment in Boulder this morning. As I was getting all my stuff together, I realized there was no way I'd make it in time. So I drove.

Plan B was to bike out to Marshall Mesa after work. But I really needed to plant some things in my garden first, before they died in their plastic containers. And then it was almost dark.

So, I just did an easy jog from my house. I thought I'd just do a two-mile out-and-back. But, I ended up going over to the Coal Creek Trail and back. I could've jogged the whole way, but I walked the last mile or so, since I haven't jogged much lately (I didn't want to over-do it).

Jog 3.27 miles / 35:15
Walk 0.9 miles / 15:45
