Still raining.

If it were winter, this would be a city-halting blizzard.

It's a full 30 degrees cooler today than it was two days ago (really!). I had planned to bike to work, but it's been raining steadily all day...

Does anyone have a JPEG of the Day 2 Green-Y course...?

(I forgot mine in Troy's truck last weekend and won't be able to get it back 'til this weekend. Meanwhile I'd like to look at my tracks.)

Note

Nevermind, I just found it on Swampfox's blog. It has his route drawn on it, but that's OK -- it'll be interesting to compare my route to his.

Tracks added below for Day 2 on Aug 10...

Cycling tempo 33:18 [3] 6.34 mi (5:15 / mi)
slept:8.0 weight:124lbs

Bike to work.

I got lucky and found half of a blueberry cake donut in the break room. Score!

I don't usually like to come back to work after a nice vacation, but this time I came back to a fabulous WINDOW CUBICLE that I moved into on the Friday before I went to Laramie. I face west towards the mountains and it's about 50% bigger than the standard cubes. I love it.

Cycling 37:00 [3] 7.1 mi (5:13 / mi)

Bike home, with a stop at the grocery store.

Orienteering race (Green course) 1:05:49 [3] 4.33 mi (15:12 / mi) +673ft 13:15 / mi
slept:6.0 shoes: Vasque Adrenaline

Today was much better -- I was pretty happy to be a full 25 minutes faster than yesterday (which illustrates just how awful I did yesterday!). I might have veered off the optimal line on occasion, but I didn't do any wandering or circling. I tried to jog the whole time, rather than walking.

It's always demoralizing to feel like I did really well (for me) and then hear everyone talk about how easy the navigation was -- but I guess that was pretty much the case today.

It was clear to me both today and yesterday that I need to concentrate more on hill climbs in my training.

Blue == my GPS tracks
Red == Swampfox's route
