Upper loop at Hidden Mesa. I thought this trail would be mostly dry, since it's so treeless and exposed. But, it was 100% snow, slush, ice, ankle-deep puddles, and shoe-suctioning mud. Ugh. I probably shouldn't have even been on the trail... I jogged the first two miles and then walked the last mile, where the slippery mud was the worst.

Christmas light run with the LoCO FIT group. We get held up at traffic lights a few times -- had to wait for quite a while.

- Two rounds to warm up: jump-rope singles x 150 / stair climbs x 1.

- Dynamic stretching.

- Clean-and-jerk technique practice and warm-up.

- Clean and jerk, working up to one-rep max. I got up to 85#. Failed multiple times at 95# and then at 90#...

- For time -- four rounds: clean and jerk @ 50% of one-rep max x 8 / row x 200m. I used 45#. 12:56.

Awesome jump rope clinic at my gym, taught by local world champion Molly Metz.

I worked on double-unders for about a half-hour one time last year, and my calves were in tight, painful knots for the next three or four days. I'm dreading what might happen after today's 75-minute session... Ay caramba.

Finally back from being a slug...
  • Dynamic stretching to warm up, along with duck walk, bear crawl, monkey walk, alligator walk, etc.

  • Medicine ball drills & kettlebell warm-up.

  • For time -- ten rounds:

    - 35# kettlebell swings x 15 (I used 25#)
    - run across gym to sit-up station
    - abmat sit-ups x 15
    - bear crawl
    - 4' wall hurdle
    - run back to kettlebell station

    Lap times were 1:58, 1:56, 2:03, 2:13, 2:15, 2:12, 2:25, 2:25, 2:13, 2:02 == 21:40.
