Taure Spring Cup

day 2, long

Hardest course of 2017 so far, physically mostly, also challenging technically. Started quite good, but started to develop smaller and bigger troubles from 5 till the end, mostly because was really exhausted, especially after steep slopes. 4:30 in mistakes.
However, starting to like the heavy ones.

A decent race, physically challenging. Quite a clean run with few minor mistakes. 5th from 22, nice.

Bumbukalns.
I had trouble in this terrain as a kid. Liked it now though. Wanted to take this one easy, but a young russian athlete (Nikita Gurevich) catched me at 38 and could not help myself to race a little. His speed was not to keep up, but since he did a few mistakes catched him again and again until the easy part where I lost him for good. That was fun.
The M35 results came quite tight as I lost 15s to the winner and the next two guys lost 2 and 4 seconds to me.

Rīgas Kausi day2

A decent start, first 5 controls went well, then got sloppy until 10, the rest was fine. 2 minutes in mistakes total - that is how much I lost to the winner. However, as a surprise came 3rd which is the first top3 on a national race since started to train (15 months ago). Happy as F!

Both days combined came 6th out of 35 which is higher than expected (aimed for top10 @ M-35)

Physically felt better than yesterday and had a faster pace even though did not have any decent company.

Rīgas Kausi day 1

Could be a top5 run if not a fatal error on 5 (3min). Altogether 4:25 on first 9 controls, after that found my rythm.
Got some extra speed when Maris catched up (4min) at 13.

Physically not the best condition, developed some cold symptoms after tuesday's run, so saved myself for this one, but still not fresh.

Looking forward to step up a few spots tomorrow :)

Ziemeļu Divdienas. Managed to attend the first day only.

First part went well, was leading first few points until lack of experience kicked in and started to make small mistakes resulting in bigger ones. 6 min altogether and slow speed at the end left me in bad position. However, enjoyed this one, looking forward for next weekend.

Florida was nice, Riga is much cooler. At least you can run without overheating.
Took this at 85%, felt fresh despite last few days hardcore working hours and the trip back home and some jet-lag. Probably because did not have a chance to run or anything.
