Note

I'm job shadowing my aunt and staying with her. Was hoping to fit in a run but it took us 2 and a half hours to get home. Damn traffic. Saw dylan driving to work (i presume) this morning. Drove behind him for a bit. Quite a coincidence.

Note

Walked around Jeppe Boys with Alex to check the map and make a few adjustments for the Christmas event. It was hot.

Note
(sick)

Booo. No O-training for me today. I was up most of last night feeling nauseous. There seems to be a bug going round because Alex and my mom have also been sick. I had to drag my butt out of bed this morning to write exams.

Cycling (94.7 MTB race-20km) 1:40:48 [5] 23.8 km (14.2 kph)
ahr:173 max:187

There was lots of mud and a really awesome river crossing. The route was a bit different to last years one. It was a bit more technical which made it more fun. Starting in bunches helped to ease traffic but it was still annoying. My legs where dead by 20km so the last 3km that they don't tell you about before hand hurt a bit.

Cycling 20:00 [2] 5.18 km (15.5 kph)

Went for a short, easy ride to check my bike was working nicely

Warm up and pacing/cool down.

Orienteering (At Wits) 20:00 [4]

Did a star relay and control description exercise with mini courses on the field in between. Legs were pretty tired by the end.

Running (Sasol wichwood) 21:05 [3] 3.2 km (6:35 / km)
shoes: Adidas Response

Easy run with Alex. Legs didn't feel great. First exam down, 12 to go.

Cycling 47:00 [3] 12.88 km (16.4 kph)

Left at around 7 so it was rather chilly. I went round the top of Bill Stewart, along Kloof, through the park and up Royal Oak. Got a max speed of 43 along Kloof.
I went as early as I could because SA are playing cricket today so I want to get lots of studying done before it starts. Exams start tomorrow.

Cycling (Bill stewart) 37:09 [3] 10.4 km (16.8 kph)
ahr:147 max:171

Roads were relatively quiet. My shins are a bit sore when I walk or run so I'll have to keep an eye on them.

Orienteering (At Wits) 30:00 [3]
ahr:171 max:189 shoes: Adidas Response

I was half dead before I even got to Wits. Alex has started working so I had to get the bus after school which was a rather interesting experience. I got a bus to Gandhi Square then had to wait an hour for the next bus. I eventually got there after 2hrs.

We did intervals on West Campus which was fun. Legs felt dead. The lightening was quite hectic.

MTB-O race 2:26:00 [4] 20.5 km (7:07 / km)
ahr:159

Rode with Cindy. It was really great. We were both quite tired from the foot rogaine so we were a perfect match. We went south. We didn't get as far as we thought we would but it worked out well in the end. We only made one minor navigation error and my legs didn't get horrendously sore. We made it back in good time. Definitely the best part of a fun weekend.

Orienteering race 2:36:00 [5]
ahr:169 shoes: New Balance 477

I did the 2.5hr with Jess L. We headed south going through the ruins. Our plan worked out ok and we would have probably just made it back in time but we screwed up our navigation on the way home. We then had to bust our butts to get back and were 6mins late. It was a really hot day.
