Running 26:29 [3]
ahr:165 max:188 shoes: Adidas Response

Ran down royal oak, along highland, down queen st, along derby to orion and back along nottingham then up queen st. I felt pretty strong going up queen st near the end. Ran the first half with Alex who was on his way to Rodes park to do intervals. I wish we had a track nearby

Running 35:00 [3]
shoes: Salomon XA Pro 3D

My first run in ages. Legs felt a bit strange to start with. I've still got quite a bit of phlegm. I ran around Gillooly's dam once to warm up then ran around on the restaurant side. I met Alex each time he crossed the river and ran with him during his recovery. Had to wear my Salomons because I still haven't cleaned my NB. They rubbed the arch of my right foot pretty badly.

Note
(sick)

Seems like Alex has passed his cold on to me.

Orienteering race (Green) 1:06:00 [5] 3.87 km (17:03 / km) +130m 14:36 / km
ahr:170 max:185 16c slept:7.0 shoes: Salomon XA Pro 3D

1st colour coded event. Moroleta Kloof. 1:7500
My navigation was decent and my legs felt pretty good. There was lots of thick vegetation and everyone came back covered in blackjacks. I went through some unnecessary fight to no3. I made my biggest mistake at no7. I was running along a path looking for a thicket which wasn't very distinct. Tania came out at about the right place so I ran in but it didn't go so well. I had to go back to the path and tried again. I lost concentration at no12 so over shot it. The rest went pretty well. I was rather surprised to win the course.

Running (Trail run) 24:34 [3] 3.8 km (6:28 / km)
shoes: New Balance 477

The first Uge trail run at Alberts Farm. I didn't push hard because I'm saving my legs for tomorrows o event. There was a bit of mud so my shoes look lovely

Cycling 26:00 [3]

A ride around Alberts farm after the trail run with Alex. My legs were pretty dead and I haven't done much cycling lately so I didn't go very far

stationary bike 30:00 [2]
ahr:133 max:158

I'm not feeling too bad today. Warmed up by doing loops in my garden with Alex who is in love with his new bike.

Note

I think I'm getting a cold so took the day off. My head and chest are sore.

Tuesday Apr 8, 2008 #

Running 23:29 [3] 3.4 km (6:54 / km)
shoes: Adidas Response

Ran up highland, down orion, along derby and up queen st. It's a really hilly route. Not a good one for sore calves.

Running race (Slow Mag 5km) 25:43 [5] 5.0 km (5:09 / km)
ahr:172 max:193 shoes: Adidas Response

Started at the Benoni sports ground. The route wasn't overly exciting but it was nice and flat. There weren't many people so I started at a good pace. I did the 1st km in 5:50. I didn't see any km markers after that so presumed I was going at 6mins a k. After 20 mins I could see the finish but was convinced there was still a km and a half to go so I kept it chilled. I would have run harder if I'd known how close the finish was. My calves were a bit sore but otherwise I felt good. So I either had a cracking run to knock 4 mins off my last 5km time or someone measured wrong.

ahr:167 max:182 shoes: Adidas Response

Ran the bottom half of park-rhetts route and the top half of sasol wichwood route. My calves were a bit sore so I took it easy.
