Running long 1:10:00 [3] 7.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus 17

Combined Christine's loop and Gude loop

wo - 7 miles with middle 5 @ 8:50, first and last easy.

more like a broken tempo - 11:10 / 9:09 / 8:57 / 9:00 / 8:57 / then 0.45 miles @ 9 min pace. Probably stopped twice during this run for a water break. Then stopped for 3-5 min for GI issues. Then finished the workout - a mile at 8:36 / then a cooldown mile.

Stomach issues. Tired.

Orienteering 1:37:01 [3] 3.0 mi (32:20 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Ghost 8

@ Prince William

I told myself not to run a step and work on using the compass and see how accurately I could find the controls using just compass bearings and what Mihai had taught me. I didn't use very much else on the map, though if there was an obvious trail route, I'd take that.

I drift a bunch. #4 & #5 were so close, I missed #4 and punched #5 by mistake (122 vs 123) and thought I was at #4 - so I went meandering for a bit looking for #5. When I realized what had happened, I just went ahead from #5, thereby missing #4 altogether.

Sometimes I'd be able to find the controls very well using the compass, other times I found that I'd drifted a lot, more than 30 meters on some legs.

I'm getting a feel for the distances, though I should pace count.

Sometimes I get in sync with another person/group and it throws me off. I neither want to follow nor lead.
