Re-run of Copper Ridge course following Forest. Take-aways and advice from Forest. 1) Planning, planning, planning. Rate your legs post-race on how well you planned each leg. 2) He uses the "Finnish Wheel". Break down each legs into chunk of Set expectation, realize expectation. If you do not realize expectation, stop and figure it out. 3) His running speed at the end was faster than I could do if I was reading the map for the first time, but it wasn't dramatically faster than I run. At the start of the course there we alot of times where he really slowed down to figure things out. 4) He rotates his compass housing so he doesn't have to have it on the map to get a bearing. Could try that out?
