Short ridge loop - run to start of 24 HOL was really slow warm up. Felt pretty pokey today - probably because only 3 hrs or so of sleep last night. Knee also started to bug me at the very end. Have not had that in a long time. Worrying. Iced it and seems OK now (3-4 hours later).

Ran the YOA long champs - advanced course at Magnusson as training. A few flags out but no controls.

Went well, did have the benefit of having run the expert course in the same area, but they were quite different. Did well with my attack points and staying in contact with the map except kind of blew control 7-8. Didn't really have an attack point there so should have 1) aimed off to the NW and planned for a real attack point 2) played it safe and stuck to the trail or 3) gone slower once I left the trail on a careful compass bearing (for about 250 m).

Training on the Golden Horn map. Handrail exercise. Went well except for 5 where everything went to plan but I completely misread where I was (even though I was on my planned route and relocation was difficult because of lots of EW depressions with open north slopes. Take home message - trust when you first know you are lost (I knew it was not fitting the terrain) and fix it. That was a 15 minute error.
