No trail, no compass, no map. - Just an easy forest run out to the pumphouse with Siya.

Something went crazy with my HR monitor at the start. Wasn't running that hard!

Orienteering 1:46:44 intensity: (16:27 @0) + (25:18 @1) + (33:13 @2) + (22:58 @3) + (7:07 @4) + (1:41 @5) **** 9.25 km (11:32 / km) +24m 11:24 / km
ahr:135 max:196 shoes: VJ O-shoes 10.5

First forest O of the year - Forest and Darren set a course at Carcross.

First half went OK, then got tired and sloppy and didn't finish the course, just getting too punchy.

My goal was to stay in contact with the map - maybe too nebulous? Didn't really achieve goal.

But good to get out.

Light run to the beach in Victoria to shake out the stiffness from driving 28.5 hours the past two days. As expected felt terrible for the first several kilometers ...

Felt a little pokey on the first bit but then it went really well. Bunch of PBs!

But heart rate monitor didn't connect. Damn!

-15 (average)
Yukon 50 km ski marathon.

Felt much better this than two years ago. Took it out more slowly and didn't have that period in the middle where I suffered. Probably could have pushed it a little harder on some hills.

Talking to Jeff and Dave after maybe I should consider eating at the aid stations, all I had was gatorade.

Conditions were not super fast but good.

Happy with it. Took the past week off because my knee was bugging me but felt fine for the 50 km. Elbows were a little sore and couldn't use my upper body as much as I would have liked.
