War Eagle beat me up again. Pretty good first half of the training, pretty bad second half. Just didn't stay in close enough contact with the map.

Sprint series - downtown map. Forgot to start my watch until 2:10 in or so.

Was working on making sure I had a plan and sticking to it. Which I did except poorly executed on leg 3-4. Two other mistakes, both fairly big ones. Again followed the wrong line out of a control.

Training at Copper Ridge - was working on visualization and making sure I had a plan for the leg. Mostly went well. Didn't push very hard, maybe that is why it went well.

Knee feeling OK, but has been swollen alot lately. Been doing knee exercises daily.

Training in the long lake fun zone.

Working on visualizing the leg before starting on it. Mixed success ...

Looking at Quickroute, first error was completely losing my mind on the scale - but there was an extra flag hung there as well. I was suspicious a little and what I did do well was realize fairly quickly that things were amiss.

Second and third mistake was maybe because I was trying to visualize too much and was ignoring my compass. Went the wrong way right off the control and ran by things that matches what I had visualized and this terrain is very unforgiving about that.

Last error was losing touch with the map on the long leg. Needed to be way more careful on a 500 m leg in this terrain.

But the other controls went pretty well with the visualization.

Sprint series race number 1.

Wanted to work on flow around the control and making sure I made the time to make a route choice. It was cold ... or something ... and didn't execute the plan immediately from the start. Then made two other major mistakes because I didn't leave the control properly. Did I check my compass? Guess not. So didn't do the things I was trying to work on.

The rest of the race (after control 5) went well.

Things to remember - don't bumble the start!

Red Squad training - snowed last week so it has been a shoulder season week without much training.

First two were a pretty good pace then started to get tired. Came late so didn't do any warm up really

Was working on flow around the controls (again) which went pretty well.

In looking over things, there were a few places I needed to be more careful - although only a few - and a few places where my route choice was not ideal. Maybe those should be things I concentrate on in training/races coming up
