Didn't run there as pouring with rain at the time. I think we are improving, but still got comprehensively beaten.

Running 3:43:35 [3] 41.1 km (5:26 / km)

Certainly didn't plan to run this far but was enjoying the run so didn't want to stop. It was a 4hr loops trail race on largely single tracks at Davies Creek just up on the tablelands. Three loops were available: 14.5km, 7.2km or 3.2km although they were all a bit shorter than advertised. It started at 5pm, so initially in daylight, but it became dark about 1.5hrs in. I ran solo and was planning on stopping whenever I felt like it. There were bonuses for doing the long loops so I started on the 14km loop. Felt good at the end of that so continued on to do it again. Then didn't feel all that much worse at the end of that so continued on for a third time. Slowed down towards the end of the third loop both from fatigue and because I knew I had plenty of time to complete it. I was slightly disappointed that the loops were a bit short so I can't actually say I did a marathon :) Really nice area for running - very few completely flat sections but the hills weren't very large either. Definitely will be back here for some training runs and maybe some mountain biking as well. The wet weather spoiled the camping plans, but I'm sure there will also be other opportunities for that. I'm really enjoying all the events from the Adventure Sport NQ crew - they have a lot of enthusiasm, put on great cheap events and seem to always have really good random draws! Anyone planning to come up for the Australian Rogaining Champs in this area in June should have a lot of fun.

Running 20:00 [2]

Ran to the indoor sports centre plus added a bit extra along the way.

Volleyball 40:00 [2]

Indoor beach volleyball. Was asked to play about an hour before the game as they didn't have enough players. Most of us had never played before so we weren't all that good and got soundly beaten. But it was fun and we did improve over the course of the game.

Running 40:00 [3]

Esplanade run. Really big struggle to get out the door today. But started to enjoy it after a km or two. Plus the run made a remarkable difference to my mood - must remember that in the future.

Running race 18:54 [5] 5.0 km (3:47 / km)

Race 3 in the series. Ran faster again which is nice but it didn't feel that great. Very hot, but less humid than the last ones.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [3]

Orienteering race 1:30:42 [4]

Lost about 7min on a short leg after I stopped thinking. Disappointing.

Orienteering race 14:16 [5]

Really enjoyed this one. Good area and I felt I was running and navigating well.

Orienteering race 16:13 [5]

Lost a fair bit of time on the first one where the stairs were barricaded off. Went back out and around. Didn't really understand what was going on until I checked out the area afterwards. Ran hard to try to catch up after that - almost made it but just short. The stairs and the map issue were a shame - but unfortunately just highlights how many things can go wrong in orienteering and particularly sprint orienteering.

Running 50:00 [3]

Esplanade run.

Running 47:00 [3]

Took a great deal of effort to get out the door today. Was beautiful once out of course - the novelty of running along the esplanade hasn't worn off.

Running race 19:05 [5] 5.0 km (3:49 / km)

2nd race in 'the Rocks' series. Felt much better than two weeks ago and ran quicker even with the slightly lengthened course.
