Upper body strength session - felt very good. Unfortunately our NYE was interrupted when we realised the heating was dead at 10 pm and that it was going to get to -18 degrees sensible overnight, and had to drive out to a Walmart Supercenter a long way away that for some reason was open to buy space heaters and electric blankets. It was so cold on the way out that the inside of all the car windows were icing up. So we were in the car driving back from Walmart at the bells - possibly the most rubbish NYE we've ever had!

Was supposed to be a "long" run in the Fells but it was extremely cold and Rob ran in front for the second part so it was fast! Still a little bit of gunk in the throat and it was hard to keep up with him on the way back. I feel unfit!

Strength session. Managed 2 x 8 step back lunges and 2 x 8 goblet squats without any knee pain. Cautiously excited...

My new watch has seriously got in the way of logging! I'm home for a quick week for Christmas, and of course, I have developed the cold which always arrives the second I hit UK soil. Is it the dampness?! I don't know! Every morning I expect to wake up in snotmageddon but I'm pleasantly surprised that I only feel marginally worse, so today I pushed it with a "jog." I couldn't make it up any hill at HR below 150 but it did move a bit of snot around. See how I feel tomorrow.
My knee is still not great - it doesn't hurt when running, I'm aware of it when cycling but no actual pain, but bending it for squats etc is painful after a few. Booked in with a physio for Jan 3rd, looking forward to it.
