Easy cycle home in the daylight. Nice! Body still tired. Definitely overdid it last week. It's such a fine balance.

Ran towards the sunrise behind Bunker Hill. Very pretty but I felt quite rubbish. There was a huge water main burst at Sullivan Square and I got extremely wet feet. It was over a foot deep rushing across the road in places!

If we were to take a long weekend to Orlando to see a Falcon launch and it gets rescheduled, what else might we do instead? We are not theme park people and the Everglades is probably too far. Ideas?!

Spent all today working on finishing up my R course project. It was good to not do anything that required going outside. I slept till almost lunchtime, so I clearly needed it. Back to it again tomorrow!

These workouts are starting to feel a little too easy perhaps, but I only have two more weeks left in this block, so will continue at this level then move up. Do need some heavier dumbbells for sure though!

Easy cycle in and out. I left work sleepy and was still sleepy when I got home - so I skipped Dumbbell Domination for an evening on the sofa. I think I definitely overdid it a bit on Wednesday :) But it was fun!

Lots of cycling today, all soggy. Into work, out to the Fells, than back home up the huge hill in Medford. Very tired by the end. Glad I took the mountain bike in the damp.

Into work and back at easy pace, low gear up the hills on the way home. Nice active recovery. On the way in to work Sullivan Square was closed as a truck had turned over on the curve. From a distance I could see a bike wheel sticking out of the wrecking and my stomach sank, only to realise when I got closer that the truck was in fact a scrap metal truck, and the bike was scrap. Phew.

Yesterday was my "long" session so today I did the brown. Good choice, the contours at Great Brook are really good but the running is a little rougher. I had some moments where I was moving well today, and some where I was struggling. I totally minced the river crossing. Nice afternoon with the juniors and then some errand running. All good. Really enjoyed two orienteering sessions in a weekend, my brain is already feeling sharper, even if my legs aren't. I'm going to treat this 6 week DD as a base, and then add an intervals session in I think for the next set.

Prospect Hill. My legs were lead but I still loved being out in the woods. A couple of really silly mistakes, and walked up the big hills. One mistake going too far right on the high route to number 9 sent me past bathrooms, for which I was very grateful!

Jump! The easy version is a lot easier than the full version I did during the challenge, but still one of the harder workouts. Used the 20# KB for the rows, and only 3# for the renegade rows plus press ups.

Felt tired today but the cycle home was energising enough to catch up on Dumbbell Domination. This one felt like a crossfit chipper, it was fun! And descending reps is always even more fun.

We went to VT with people we didn't know well and they are really really lovely people but they do not have a sleep schedule compatible with mine. The house we were staying in had no sound insulation and they went to bed at 3.30 on Friday and 2.30 on Saturday. I was of course wide awake for most of both nights, and not able to sleep in in the morning. On Saturday I managed an easy jog down into Brattleboro for coffee, but on Sunday I had to rest as I was exhausted.

Not how I had wanted to spend the weekend at all. I am back to exhausted again, after a week where I almost got back to an an even keel.

I owe Zan one dumbell domination, hopefully tonight!

I found my HR band but I guess it didn't work. The cats were nuts all night and woke me up four or five times. Slept in this morning and feel tired.

Today's DB domination was Traction. I need to dig out something to use as a box for step ups and incline things. Everything body weight today - the up and down press ups are really hard!

Really enjoying these little workouts - the barrier to entry is low and I think they're good.

Orienteering at Noon Hill. The weather broke just as I started and there are few things I like more than orienteering in the rain. I was still shattered after 12 hours sleep this morning, so I picked the Brown course. Bo did a really great job of planning and I really really enjoyed it. I stopped at each control and made a full plan, so at least well relatively smooth through the leg, which felt better as the course went on. I messed up going round the base of the hill, which I always do. And then as I was leaving the penultimate control, I ran through a wasp/hornet net and got stung twice! I sprinted away, then ran back up after finishing to try to tape off the area. I never saw the actual nest but I got stung a bunch more times!

I as very glad I had a good time out there. Tingled all the way home and well into the afternoon.

Went back to Hammond Pond to pick up the streamers. I was right, it is a wonderful wee area. Not feeling very optimal physically, but loving being out in the sunny woods and not being too hot.

Today I realised I am no longer a good orienteer, but I am really enjoying orienteering again. This is great!
