Managed to mostly mimic upper body day at home with dumbbells and an exercise band trapped in the door. Went for an East Rock hike with Rivka this morning and feeling a bit less tight and icky after sitting down all Christmas.
"HIIIT" session. The weather was foul so I did a bodyweight exercise one, and my HR doesn't really go high enough to be called a true HIIT. But got a sweat on, which didn't seem likely at 4pm after a day looking at the very cold rain!

HIIT on a bike after I wimped out yesterday. The gym is nearly empty and it is divine. Was a good change to thrash out some intervals with music blaring, "Destory Everything You Touch" kicked in just at the start of a rep and it was pretty awesome. Had to have a brief rest in the middle as legs aren't used to cycling intervals with such short rests. I really enjoyed this, but as always with the bike, HR not as high.

Rob is finally on his way back and I knew I would be in too much of a tizz to do the brand new prep I was supposed to do today, so have taken an easy morning getting my workouts in. Didn't get back from NYC meeting till 10 either, so doesn't feel like that much slacking!

Still a bit stuffed but not getting worse - hopefully the rest has paid off. Decided I'm mentally done with this block, so taking the final low impact week (fewer reps, not HIIT) before starting new block next week.
Went to the gym but warm up felt weird - that pre illness feeling where muscles are tight but want to be springy, only they're not. Then started to get that gross not right sweaty feeling and I guess I got one of the terrible colds that people brought back to the lab from Thanksgiving. So no Ratlum for me :(
Two reps of the first exercise and then went home. Boo.
