Neighbourhood shuffle. Better progress up the hills than I was anticipating. I am full of snot, but it seemed to clear with some very satisfying snot rockets :)

Decided to do a bit of a Freeletics bootcamp this week. Turned out Freeletics thought that was a good idea too and gave me Hell Days. I switched to strength only too. First up was Prometheus, which felt amazing till the final set when it suddenly got insanely hard. Then 3/4 Hermes which is a silly workout involving going back outside into the slush. I will be disappointed if this kind of day is all we get for wintry weather this year.

Visited Charlie's favourite today - People's State Forest. Kitchens did not plan their eating in advance, so I did my run while they ate lunch. Then we went for a walk. I did the south bit, we walked the north bit. Just beat the rain.
Extremely tired today as we were woken by a fire alarm at about 1.30 in the morning (only got back from NYC at midnight). Managed to figure out it was;t coming from anywhere in the house, and then realised it was coming from next door. The neighbours are away for the week, so we thought we should check it out. Turns out they'd left their fire alarm out on the deck (?!?!?), and once the rain started, it short circuited the alarm and it was going off continuously. So Rob climbed the fence, removed, the battery, and we tried to get back to sleep, but we were wet and no longer tired. Grrr!

I needed the loo, but I didn't beat the Kitchens to the bathroom, so I drove to West Rock, where they have closed up the toilet :O. So I had to dive behind a bush and then went for a run. Not feeling massively sprightly but nice to run somewhere other than the streets. Then into NYC for an aircraft carrier (rubbish, apart from the Space Shuttle) and the Guggenheim (better). Also extremely good bread based products from Sullivan St Bakery.

Cooked a pretty virtuoso Christmas Dinner, which we ate outside on the deck! It was gorgeous out there, really warm and fresh. I ate waaaaaay too much and waited as long as I could before heading out for a run (Becky long, not Ian long). Legs felt good, stomach occasionally reminded me that I really should have run in the morning. Wanted to do Freeletics on return but I'm guessing burpees and Christmas belly not a good combination. Really lovely day with Rob's parents, but missing mine, Hoping this is my last USA Christmas.

I did a weird set of intervals on the way to work because I can't count. Finished up for the break, grabbed a bit of Christmas shopping, and then came home and did the tidying I should have done in October in the garden. Buried lovely Derek. Digging is hard.

I did a shuffle. I am still bunged up and sleep deprived, but shuffling felt the best I have in a week or so, so I probably just need to move about and shift it.
This is going to make Kitch laugh - was feeling much better yesterday, but then stayed up half the night because Derek the rat was really ill. He was super dehydrated and cold, so we had to spend a couple of hours rehydrating him. He's not himself this morning, but he is a bit perkier. I am therefore tired and the whole house ha to be cleaned for the arrival of Rob's parents!
Okay, the 12 hour sleep on Monday night obviously meant I felt extra chipper on Tuesday. I am very tired now and baseline snivelly, so I am going to take it easy for the rest of the week, stick to strolling in the warm sunshine.

Took the first mile easy to check I felt okay and I did (10 hours sleep may have had something to do with that) so sped up to normal snail's pace. It was too warm out there for December.

Ugh, I hate Aphrodite. There was nothing I could do today except watch my ghost run away from me, but happy to keep this under 30 minutes. Not bad for a not good day :)
I was hoping to shuffle when we got home today, but I have a scratchy throat and five hours sleep and so I'm going to bail. Hopefully be all normal tomorrow.

Final run from home before heading home, in the end of storm Desmond. We didn't get anything like the worst of the water, and the brook at the bottom of the village was actually nowhere near as full as I expected, so I got to go to the waterfall then back over the moor. Not feeling very sprightly but loving being out.

Some freeletics reps to finish. I picked up an adorable puppy on the final one, and I hope it found it's way home. So good to be sliding around in the West Yorkshire mud.

An easy run from home after a long day travelling. Felt surprisingly okay and went to visit our old "Cross country" loop in the next village, as it was dark. Good to be out in the wild and windy beginnings of great storm Desmond!

Pre travelling run around the best playground in New Haven, East Rock! It was pouring with rain and it felt appropriate given my imminent trip to the land of drizzle.

Freeletics. Apollon. It rained more and more and thus the burpees on the cold wet floor were not the most pleasant of things.

Nice recovery day for Becky - HR max run. Felt just fine. A little nausea at the start, but disappeared quite quickly and stayed away for the rest of the day.
