Running 33:01 intensity: (39 @0) + (9:22 @1) + (22:12 @2) + (48 @3) 4.63 km (7:07 / km) +49m 6:46 / km

Neighbourhood shuffle. Better progress up the hills than I was anticipating. I am full of snot, but it seemed to clear with some very satisfying snot rockets :)

Freeletics 40:03 intensity: (11:28 @0) + (1:54 @1) + (8:52 @2) + (17:49 @3) 0.36 km (1:51:15 / km) +1m 1:49:44 / km
ahr:139 max:172

Decided to do a bit of a Freeletics bootcamp this week. Turned out Freeletics thought that was a good idea too and gave me Hell Days. I switched to strength only too. First up was Prometheus, which felt amazing till the final set when it suddenly got insanely hard. Then 3/4 Hermes which is a silly workout involving going back outside into the slush. I will be disappointed if this kind of day is all we get for wintry weather this year.

And on the seventh day, Becky rested.

Running 36:47 intensity: (36 @0) + (22 @1) + (1:40 @2) + (30:36 @3) + (3:33 @4) 5.3 km (6:56 / km) +171m 5:58 / km

Visited Charlie's favourite today - People's State Forest. Kitchens did not plan their eating in advance, so I did my run while they ate lunch. Then we went for a walk. I did the south bit, we walked the north bit. Just beat the rain.

Extremely tired today as we were woken by a fire alarm at about 1.30 in the morning (only got back from NYC at midnight). Managed to figure out it was;t coming from anywhere in the house, and then realised it was coming from next door. The neighbours are away for the week, so we thought we should check it out. Turns out they'd left their fire alarm out on the deck (?!?!?), and once the rain started, it short circuited the alarm and it was going off continuously. So Rob climbed the fence, removed, the battery, and we tried to get back to sleep, but we were wet and no longer tired. Grrr!

Running 30:01 intensity: (15 @0) + (21 @1) + (38 @2) + (27:45 @3) + (1:02 @4) 4.75 km (6:19 / km) +39m 6:04 / km
ahr:163 max:177

I needed the loo, but I didn't beat the Kitchens to the bathroom, so I drove to West Rock, where they have closed up the toilet :O. So I had to dive behind a bush and then went for a run. Not feeling massively sprightly but nice to run somewhere other than the streets. Then into NYC for an aircraft carrier (rubbish, apart from the Space Shuttle) and the Guggenheim (better). Also extremely good bread based products from Sullivan St Bakery.

ahr:158 max:176 shoes: Neon sauconys

Cooked a pretty virtuoso Christmas Dinner, which we ate outside on the deck! It was gorgeous out there, really warm and fresh. I ate waaaaaay too much and waited as long as I could before heading out for a run (Becky long, not Ian long). Legs felt good, stomach occasionally reminded me that I really should have run in the morning. Wanted to do Freeletics on return but I'm guessing burpees and Christmas belly not a good combination. Really lovely day with Rob's parents, but missing mine, Hoping this is my last USA Christmas.

Intervals 32:05 intensity: (16 @0) + (1:22 @1) + (3:39 @2) + (17:00 @3) + (9:48 @4) 5.64 km (5:41 / km) +26m 5:34 / km
ahr:164 max:184 shoes: Neon sauconys

I did a weird set of intervals on the way to work because I can't count. Finished up for the break, grabbed a bit of Christmas shopping, and then came home and did the tidying I should have done in October in the garden. Buried lovely Derek. Digging is hard.

Ran some of the way home in the mega rain, got picked up, then finished off with a loop around the block!

Lots went wrong in the lab today and then Derek died. So I needed a run to cheer up.

A little trip around the neighbourhood after a very inactive day driving back from Boston via Truelove Farms.

Cycling 1:05:00 [1]

I pushed the pedals with my feet and the wheels went round.

Monday Dec 14, 2015 #

Recovery 40:00 intensity: (4:42 @0) + (24:40 @1) + (9:34 @2) + (1:04 @3) 5.5 km (7:17 / km) +56m 6:55 / km
ahr:129 max:155 shoes: Neon sauconys

I did a shuffle. I am still bunged up and sleep deprived, but shuffling felt the best I have in a week or so, so I probably just need to move about and shift it.

Saturday Dec 12, 2015 #

Note

This is going to make Kitch laugh - was feeling much better yesterday, but then stayed up half the night because Derek the rat was really ill. He was super dehydrated and cold, so we had to spend a couple of hours rehydrating him. He's not himself this morning, but he is a bit perkier. I am therefore tired and the whole house ha to be cleaned for the arrival of Rob's parents!

Thursday Dec 10, 2015 #

Note

Okay, the 12 hour sleep on Monday night obviously meant I felt extra chipper on Tuesday. I am very tired now and baseline snivelly, so I am going to take it easy for the rest of the week, stick to strolling in the warm sunshine.

Tuesday Dec 8, 2015 #

7 AM

Recovery 39:57 intensity: (57 @0) + (5:01 @1) + (33:59 @2) 5.93 km (6:44 / km) +58m 6:25 / km
ahr:138 max:148 shoes: Neon sauconys

Took the first mile easy to check I felt okay and I did (10 hours sleep may have had something to do with that) so sped up to normal snail's pace. It was too warm out there for December.

Cross Fit 33:32 intensity: (5:00 @0) + (48 @1) + (5:13 @2) + (22:31 @3) 0.61 km (54:42 / km)
ahr:152 max:174

Ugh, I hate Aphrodite. There was nothing I could do today except watch my ghost run away from me, but happy to keep this under 30 minutes. Not bad for a not good day :)

Monday Dec 7, 2015 #

Note

I was hoping to shuffle when we got home today, but I have a scratchy throat and five hours sleep and so I'm going to bail. Hopefully be all normal tomorrow.

Sunday Dec 6, 2015 #

4 AM

Long run 45:57 intensity: (26 @0) + (35 @1) + (3:20 @2) + (32:28 @3) + (9:08 @4) 6.18 km (7:26 / km) +198m 6:25 / km
ahr:166 max:184 shoes: Shiny red Sauconys

Final run from home before heading home, in the end of storm Desmond. We didn't get anything like the worst of the water, and the brook at the bottom of the village was actually nowhere near as full as I expected, so I got to go to the waterfall then back over the moor. Not feeling very sprightly but loving being out.

Running 3:09 intensity: (5 @0) + (34 @2) + (1:20 @3) + (1:10 @4) 0.46 km (6:51 / km)
ahr:165 max:179

1/5 Hera - barely worth starting!

Running 11:04 intensity: (4 @0) + (3:11 @2) + (3:50 @3) + (3:59 @4) 1.65 km (6:41 / km)
ahr:163 max:184

Some freeletics reps to finish. I picked up an adorable puppy on the final one, and I hope it found it's way home. So good to be sliding around in the West Yorkshire mud.

Running 39:57 intensity: (35 @0) + (1:47 @1) + (13:58 @2) + (23:21 @3) + (16 @4) 6.77 km (5:54 / km) +132m 5:23 / km
ahr:152 max:178 shoes: Shiny red Sauconys

An easy run from home after a long day travelling. Felt surprisingly okay and went to visit our old "Cross country" loop in the next village, as it was dark. Good to be out in the wild and windy beginnings of great storm Desmond!

Running 39:57 intensity: (16 @0) + (18 @1) + (6:52 @2) + (30:14 @3) + (2:17 @4) 5.52 km (7:14 / km) +181m 6:13 / km
ahr:157 max:181 shoes: X Talon 212s

Pre travelling run around the best playground in New Haven, East Rock! It was pouring with rain and it felt appropriate given my imminent trip to the land of drizzle.

Cross Fit 22:07 intensity: (5 @0) + (5 @1) + (10 @2) + (9:25 @3) + (12:22 @4) 2.59 km (8:32 / km) +5m 8:27 / km
ahr:175 max:181

Freeletics. Apollon. It rained more and more and thus the burpees on the cold wet floor were not the most pleasant of things.

Recovery 39:57 intensity: (27 @0) + (4:53 @1) + (33:13 @2) + (1:24 @3) 5.37 km (7:26 / km) +60m 7:03 / km
ahr:139 max:150 shoes: Shiny red Sauconys

Nice recovery day for Becky - HR max run. Felt just fine. A little nausea at the start, but disappeared quite quickly and stayed away for the rest of the day.

Cross Fit 12:16 intensity: (46 @0) + (1:25 @1) + (30 @2) + (9:35 @3) 0.33 km (36:57 / km) +1m 36:24 / km
ahr:155 max:174

Took my workouts out of order as the other two are pretty running centric. Today I just wanted to do some press ups.
