Training Log Archive: Becks

Last night was absolutely brilliant. Wild Flag (ex Sleater Kinney plus others) started their tour in New Haven for some god forsaken reason, and they blew the whole room away. Janet's drumming remains some of the tightest I've ever seen, and the two girls playing lead/switching vocals were just killing it. I didn't even like the album very much, but that was definitely the best show I've seen this year (n=1 :) ) and will trouble the ones I have coming up. Fan bloody tastic. If they're coming to your town, go go go! You will likely never have seen women play guitar like that. That sounds like the worst back handed comment ever, and disparaging to the many awesome women I've seen play in bands over the years, but it's actually meant to be a compliment, because watching them is something else entirely. There's just a confidence and a knowingness behind them that elevates it somewhat.

Now a day of cleaning the house while listening to all of Sleater Kinney's back catalogue.
