Note

So, struggling to figure out what to aim for this year. I am still very much into orienteering being the most fun, but it seems the competitive season here is over before it's even started wit S/M/L and Team Trials so early. I don't feel like I'm going to be prepared to race at peak by then. A tiny portion of me is saying marathon in my ear, but training for that is a bit boring. Any ideas? Is there a good marathon length trail race in the autumn? That seems like a not bad compromise. Plenty of off-road training so hopefully not too boring.

Final run in the snow before the evil rain comes and turns everything into a grey slushy mess. Everything was still lovely and powdery this morning, and I even found myself some virgin snow. Had to run a bit hard in places to squeeze in under 10 minute miles, as the hills were pretty slow going.

My Falcons still aren't comfy for any length of time. Bah, silly shoes. The woods looked beautiful though - shame it'll all be gone tomorrow. Saw a girl out on XC skis too, but she wasn't going anywhere fast.
