Orienteering 1:04:15 [3] 5.1 km (12:36 / km) +235m 10:14 / km

Hemlock Hills O training course organized by HVO. My first orienteering training for the season. Ran on Sunday March 4, Lots of snow in the forest, 2-3 inches much , took it easy since it was very slippery in many places.

Lost 30s on approach to 1, and probably another minute by going around on the path rather than going straight.

2-3 minutes on 2 (must have run right past the control initially).

Better after these initial wobbles. Another minute on 7, strayed too far W, the meridians on the diagonal got me!

Another 2 minutes on 14 by bad route choice, should have gone straight over the hill out of 13.

7 minutes in total. Running was slow due to slow and early season conditioning!

Skiing Whiteface Mountain, Lake Placid, with Alexandra. Tried my new skis for the first time, what a revelation! Fantastic day of skiing, the Solomon's are terrific, I now have very precise control and they are smooth as butter.
Alexandra doing great as well, and getting more comfortable on ice.
