Sprint points through the woods at round pond. Just a long sprint course where we worked on short distance and coming off of points quickly. Helped with reading while running and getting off the control quickly.

Orienteering race (Barracks-O) 30:00 [4]
shoes: Soloman 2nd pair

Approximation of time because I forgot my watch. No distance included but it was a decently long sprint course. Very fun day. Each point was as a far away from the last point as possible. 6th floor of Davis, let me just say the corps has not. That point was quite the smoker. Finished towards the front and lapped some people.

Orienteering (Bog Meadow course ) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Soloman 2nd pair

7 point course with a go control. Only could get to 5 in the allotted time. Each point was a long leg with the focus of this training to pick route choices for our log legs. Good training with some beautiful views. It was a great day in the woods at a moderate temperature with all the leaves changing color.

Individual Training long (Long Run ) 59:00 [3] 7.8 mi (7:34 / mi)
shoes: Soloman 2nd pair

Good long run ordeal. 7.8 miles from Ike Statue to Lee Gate, then up past the PX to Washington Gate. I left Washington gate and went down the highway to Highland falls, ran through highland falls and through Thayer gate. Then came back to Ike Statue. Uphill was brutal but the down hill was fun as always. Also the first run on my new shoes and they feel pretty good.

Lifting (Arvin Lift ) 50:00 [3]

Did an lift with my boy Kevin. I am very sore, I haven't truly lifted in 2 months so that could explain it. Did biceps, pull ups, arnold presses, rows, pushups, really just everything. Finished with some legs and cool down stuff.

shoes: Speed cross 3

This log will fill the spot of the entire stockville race, which went from Saturday to Sunday. The Stockville is an orienteering based adventure race in central PA with a lot of mountains. Day one we went about 28 miles with a lot of climb, not sure exactly but we crossed over about 3 mountains. Day 2 we went proabably 25 miles with about equal climb. We ended up getting second place for West Pointers, but i'm dead. Probably lost a decent amount of weight too. Go army

Individual Training (Arvin Workout ) 40:00 [4]

Bridge led Arvin workout centered around the IOCT. Started with a stairway to heaven where we factored in pushups, air squats, burpes, and lunges. Then we bear crawled and ran some down to hayes gym. In Hayes gym I completed three floor IOCT's and 5 rope climbs. Afterward knocked out 50 push ups. Quite the smoker, especially after just waking up.

Orienteering (Sprint Course) 40:00 [4]
shoes: Speed cross 3

Actual course was a 3.4km (which actually took me 2.98 miles) and I did in 25.14. Pretty good time, the course had a solid amount of climb involved as well and was working pretty hard. Was Really practicing the hit the bag and run thing, where I wasn't stopping and looking at my map everytime because I had looked while running and already knew where to go. Afterward we knocked out 15 mins or so of abs and had another CCDP session.

Individual Training (Ruck around Round Pond ) 1:10:00 [3] 3.7 mi (18:55 / mi)
shoes: Speed cross 3

In preparation for the Stockville, we will be rucking a lot. Today we rucked around to several high points throughout the Round Pond area. Some amazing views and good discussion with my team. Actually pumped for stockville, it should be pretty fun and challenging and I think we have a good chance at doing well.

Individual Training (Ruck up Bear mountain ) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Speed cross 3

Rucked up bear mountain and back down. Not sure on the exact height or distance but it took about 40 minutes up and about half the time back down. Very amazing views, and could see New York City from the top, which still impresses me but how far the human eye can really see.
