Orienteering (DVOA Training-O) 1:20:00 [2] 1.5 km (53:20 / km)

Note: Stopped at each point to wait for group and AAR.

Decided to try going to C via the path and then compass, rather than just going on a straight azimuth. Accidently turned off path about 25m before end. Went too far and had to climb up a hill. Should have set a backstop, looked at the terrain, and paid attention to the stone walls.

Orienteering (DVOA Training-O II) 2:30:00 [3] 3.38 km (44:27 / km)

Note: Stopped at each point to wait for group and AAR.

Should have paid attention to which side of hill point 2 was on to save time.

Aim off to the left for point 4 to hit rock walls and follow in.

Went too far on road for G, slow down and attend to curves.

Drifted far south for J and hit road. Should cut due east and use road as a back stop.

For P, found b/c Geno whistled, but drifted right. Aim off to the left, hit rock walls, use path as left limit.
9 PM

Orienteering (Night Course - DVOA) 51:14 [3] 2.3 km (22:17 / km)

First 2 points were cumulative 250m, but took me 11:23 to find.

Disoriented by all the roads for #1. Next time, shoot azimuth and follow until intersecting road. It's a solid backstop.

For #2, 50m movement, but got entirely disoriented by all the houses. Either shoot azimuth, hit houses, and start counting (Jess's tip) or go up road to where it ends (Sam's idea). Same applies to #8.

Shot too far to the right for #10 and had no catching feature; only lights saved me. Next time aim off to the left so the road will catch me.
