orienteering 18:54 [3]

I have eaten way too much food this week. So I was feeling pretty bleh before I started. I like my choice of socks.
Happy with result. Planned ahead well. Faded at the end. Was a long sprint

Collecting controls at dryandra. Ran around and practiced bearings. Did a good job.

Putting out controls for training at Dryandra

We had about 30 people head out on the training courses today and we talked to a few of them about their races and techniques they could use. All and all was worth it and the people who came appreciated the training. Turns out this area might be a little similar to the middle on Saturday.

orienteering 34:54 [3]

middle, day 3 of Easter.
Had a fun day out. Started hard like I do in a middle and was winning till 14. Made two slight wobbles at 11 and 14 which was the end of the lead for me. Struggled on the slope on the way back.
Finished with a 3rd which is the best result I have had at an Easter carnival since 2009.

Easter Day 2.

Well this was a bit long. Had a fairly decent run until 19 and then lost the plot. Not happy with mistake but happy with how I pushed most of the rest and navigated well.

orienteering 17:05 [3]

Easter Day 1 Sprint at Scotch college.

I knew in advance that it was going to be a super hectic sprint as there were 32 controls in 2.8km.
I still wasn’t ready mentally for this and had no flow and had to stop at each control almost. Read the terrain well and memorised legs when I did read the map.
Tried to memorise the whole leg when I stopped and then run hard to the control, then repeat.

Turned the map flip over one control too soon so navigated to 15 without 14 on the map which was confusing cause I didn’t know where I was in relation to 14 on the map with no 14 on it.
