run from tysons up suffolk road (it was steep and zigzagging) i cramped my foot running up the hill due to working like a crazy monkey all day. So i just limped the rest of the way down olave and home.
Found a dog that said herro!, a frog mouth, a ringtail and a koala.

New shoe time

Shadowed Miki around her course today to give her a confidence booster. By the time I got back I didnt want to go back out to do another 6km. Miki did well though. I forgot belair was steep.

Did a three hour score event in blackwood. It was tough with all the hills and i got quite tired after 2 hours but just perservered and ended up with 1200 points.
I left out most of the quarry controls and got the 80 point one on the rock on the eastern side of the train line. other then that i think the hills got me.

OH and i have some pretty awesome bra chaff

Orienteering at collins creek = holy crap I think there are ticks in my hair and who can dodge the lantana the best.
Actually quite a good course but stuffed up the bingo controls haha oh well. Fun fun. Not feeling very competitive today. Felt like....mcdonalds

Sprint no. 1 at kelvin grove. Struggled to find the start and found some interesting route choices but I think because I didnt hesitate much I had an alright run. Still heaps slow on the hills. Came 4th and had 6 seconds to chase jas.

orienteering 18:08 [3]

Sprint no. 2 at uq. Pretty nervous at the start but kept my cool when I found tash and jas at no. 1. Ran with them for a bit even though we were all navigating hilariously. Just kept my head clear and ended up having another good run. Passed jas at 20 where I think she ran past a control. From there I couldnt catch tash. V happy with 3rd :-)

after driving so many people around yesterday i was too tired to do anything.
so i was sore this morning and did a little jog around the gap. i will run more later

On a different not, i went to my oral surgeon yesterday to have my yearly check up on the benign cyst that was removed from my jaw in 2008. after 4 years of healing, it looks like it could be growing back..sigh so im off to get a CT scan tomorrow and then back to surgeon on tuesday to see if i have to go under the knife again.

Also went to the dentist today...i have to get three fillings. grrr to my mouth...i think i want a coke.

a little bit dissapointed with myself today. was having an amazing run until 6. I just dont know how i lost my direction going to that control. It was direct gully line control. grrr i was way way south near number 9.
so very very unhappy with myself for this error as i thought i had mentally prepared myself for this. obviously tired and over did it. the controls after were just a bit draggy but tried to maintain a good pace

I was winning at number 5 :(

didnt even want to run this event really. I was hot, a non interesting map and long.
made errors on 9 doing a parralell error and then after that just jogged as i was quite hot and fatigued.
no errors were made the rest of the way.

i dont remember the exact time for this. it was 36 something. I had quite good preparation for this event. Actually out of all of the races over easter this was the one i was looking forward to the most. I was a bit hesitant at the start with the long vague leg but picked up my pace and rythym after that. passed suszane at 4 but she stayed with in distance of me until the last control where she passed me. silly error. I spent alot of time making direction errors on 6 and 7 going to far right on each.
overall good pace and good mental pace.

wilmots waterholes. was an ok race. had my three goals in my head before i started and my aim was to repeat them to myself for each leg. I came a bit unstuck around 11 i think where i got confused with the scale. I also went to the wrong marked crossing after the spectator. all in all i wasted 40secs there and another 20 secs before that. but it was still a quite good race in the end. 8th

Ok so I have calmed.down from my rant yesterday and iam now thinking of the good things I did.
So I ran pretty well and didnt tire much even on the hills so thats a bonus. I took some good bearingings and spiked a few of the bingo controls. Some bearings were just pointless in the cross pine and it pushed me around esp 14 that was the worst. And I was quite disorientated when I came out of the forest.
Hahaha I just rememebered I took a vow to never run at mt crosby in brisbane a few years back. Didnt stick to it was back within a few months.

on the other hand my juniors did well which im happy with. I informed them to identify every attackpoint but alot of controls didnt have any but I think they got a kick out of the training anyway and I think it helped.

grrrrrrrrrrr to crappy maps
I am sure a normal event would not include running against rides in a thick forest for a 3/4 of the course PLUS including a lovely control in a gully that was non existant on the ground. I did however make a terrible mistake after that control that was my wrong doing and i do not take out the blame on this map due to this.
So after being poked in the eye and hunched over while confused and angry for most of the couse, I pretty much cracked the shits and I am vowing to never go back to that map again...

I am no way blaming wallaringa for this event. It is unfortunate area and the course setting was fine, it was just the amount of time spent running through hurty pines with no other route choice that was a problem.
