snowshoe orienteering race (Wesley Clover) 2:11:42 [3] *** 8.8 km (14:58 / km) +96m 14:12 / km
20c shoes: Atlas Run snowshoes

There was a time when my snowshoe results would have been competitive against most of the ski-O results but I am still pleased with the adventure today. I had even asked permission in advance to go beyond three hours, something I definitely did not need. Perhaps I should give up orienteering in the spring and fall, just race in the snow.

My plan was to stay for the Mush Larose crowd, hoping to see if any of Ziggy's former competition is still racing. However, my brain was too fuzzy after the race and Ziggy needed me at home.

Don't wreck the ski tracks. That is especially difficult on the boardwalk. Stepping off the board walk, the ice does not hold my weight above open water. Leaving the trail south required careful swamp hopping to stay dry.
