Vincent Massey Park score-O

4, 2, 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 11, 13, 14, 18, 21, 23, 20, 19, 17, 16, 15, 9

I let Qi use my watch. This was her first ever score-O.

Running with no watch, I decided to simply clear the map, no time pressure. Being a shortened (45 minute) event, my late penalty was significant. I wondered about for my first control (#4) and had to wait on late arrivals because I ran right past the cardboard flag too small to see. Coming out of #4 we were all burned by stinging nettles, even through my pants. I stalled short of both #2 and #1. The rest was straightforward running in the heat until #15 where two of us ran round and round the trails 'til we found the correct one. Without control #15, my pace should have been well under 10min/km.

It's a good thing I knew the map because it now seems too small to read, my eyes?
